Anyone here live in the Raleigh,NC area?

Move in date confirmed. As of Halloween, I'll be living in North Raleigh just off Capital Blvd and working in Morrisville. Managed to keep my current salary from NY as well so I'm really ecstatic :dance::dance: Can't wait!

Congrats fam, hopefully everything works out for ya down here
You work in Morrisville & will live in North East Raleigh...
Get ready to deal with that rush hour traffic every morning & evening fam
But you can probably take I-540, so it shouldn't be THAT bad

Where is the best place to buy a condo to rent out?

Looking to buy some shit downtown in one of those areas

I like the North Raleigh area, better than downtown for buying houses & condos
The houses downtown are very OLD
The newer condos downtown (and near cameron villiage are fuckin expensive as hell)
Housing near Garner & Khinghtdale is nice thugh, but you just have to deal with that Raleigh traffic

Those old one are the best investments.

Not trying to buy something to live in

Trying to catch the RE wave

As traffic becomes worse, more people will bite the bullet and rent downtown.

Our generation's movement is back to the city.

The previous was run to the suburbs

Thanks fam. I'm not too worried bout traffic. My hours are 7am to 4pm so I should be somewhat ahead of the normal rush hour traffic. So in your opinion, the area where I am right now is probably the best to look at when it comes to buying homes and or condos?

Anyone know of good locations for car services such as detailing and mechanical repair in the 27616 area?

Still looking for info on this. Any help is much appreciated. I'm also looking for car wash spots with unlimited monthly wash packages. Ones I've found so far are in the Cary or Morrisville areas.

So I've been here for a few months now & absolutely love the vibe. Haven't had an opportunity to go out as of yet due to other things I've had on my plate but am ready to get it in now. Where are the good spots to be at for lounging, bars/clubs, etc... I'm looking for locations I can chill at on weekends with wifey as well as venues I can start networking with to try get some DJ gigs.

I'm officially on the market looking at homes to purchase now. I'm looking mainly in the 27616 (where I currently live) 27617 & 27614 areas as well as by the border of Wake Forest. I started to look at Morrisville but y'all were right on the price being higher there. The homes are absolutely beautiful there though & Google Fiber has already started laying down lines in the area as well. I'm also going to start looking at Knightdale & Rollesville too. Hopefully I can find a nice 3 bedroom in the $150-$200K range that won't break the bank. It's a seller's market now so houses are flying off the market in barely over a month or less.

Zip Code 27616, would be near Knightdale & Rolesville
That would probably give you the most bang for your buck, in the price range you are looking for

Zip Code 27617, is going to be the Brier Creek area
Houses over there are overpriced b/c of the location (right off I-540, near the airport & shopping/restaurants)
I doubt if you find a nice house for that price over there

Zip Code 27614, is going to be off Falls of Neuse Rd, north of I-540
Doctors & Lawyers, etc live over there in a housing area called Wakefield
Houses up there are going to be close to a million dollars

But there is another housing community area in that zipcode called Eagle Trace
I think thats the name, or the street
Eagle Trace has decent houses for reasonable prices

Good luck fam

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. Whenever things work out and I get the house, I'll let you know when the house warming is.

i was leaving laguardia earlier this week, and small talking with a Brotha (while bording the plane with his toddler son),, he recently relocated from nyc to raleigh and said he luvs it,, i have never been myself, so he was telling me it's hot fire so far (for single, or married men raising a family),, he said he's never moving back to nyc

I hear this a lot and considering going down there. I cant stand Philly. I love my home NY but toooooooooo expensive.

Yep. I went back to visit my peeps in NYC just over 2 weeks ago & cringed at the prices especially for gas. I miss my peeps up there but don't miss the fucked up streets waiting to dent your rims, the congested ass parking & living spaces, or the expensive ass cost of living. I'm loving it down here & have no intention of moving back up north.

Damn there are a lot of townhouses being built out here. A lot of the new construction going on are for townhomes as well

In 80's and 90's it was,

Walnut Terrace RIP, Halifax Court RIP, Shaw Apartments RIP, Sawyer Road, Dover, Vardamen Gardens, Raleigh Gardens, Kentwood, Biltmore Court, Martin Street, Carver Street, Heritage Park, Park Creek, Kingwood Forest, Southgate, Quarry Street, Idlewood, Fox Ridge, Raleigh North, Dacian Road, Melvid Court, Niggatown (Fuquay) also. Those were the days, different world now...

You two know what you're talking about. Damn this dude mentioned Niggatown in Fuquay  You probably know some of the rats I'd been with.

I have a cousin that lives in Morrisville/Cary area now. I promise none of that area existed 10 years ago but there is much build up happening along the southern 540 outerloop.

If you work out on the regular I will say stick with it because NC eating will make you gain weight QUICK [emoji38][emoji38]

Man I'm realizing the truth in what you were saying. If I'm not hitting up Cookout for a burger & shake, I'm getting some bbq from The Pit, Shane's & or Dickeys. Food be good as hell. Even found some good Latin food at Caribbean Cafe & Latin Quarters. Their food portions are beyond ridiculous but so delicious you can't put the fork down.

Man, those food joints in NC have you fat as shit in no time.
Between Krispy Kreme, Bojangles, Cookout, etc. you'll put on weight in no time.
I haven't been to Mayflowers in a minute. Might have to hit it up next time I visit NC.
BTW, they just opened up a Krispy Kreme down here in Houston, and it's been PACKED with lines wrapped around the building and traffic spilling out into the street for 2 weeks straight now.

I haven't set foot in Krispy Kreme but my lady has. I definitely partake in Cookout & Bojangles more than a lil bit though  I'm not a major seafood lover so I probably won't hit up Mayflower but I might give Biscuitville a shot. I'm still mad Twisted Fork had a kitchen fire and have been closed these past few months. The food there was delicious and their deserts were beyond addicting. Their white chocolate moose cake must've had crack in it cuz I couldn't stay away
