Anybody ever mounted a TV using adhesive?

We mock what we don't understand....Aside from the seven clowns a laffin ..... it's only 15lbs..... spread over the 2-3 mounting points.... and not pulling away from the wall, but across if flat mounted... Gorilla tape's rated to 60lbs.... shit they got picture frames that weigh more than fifteen lbs.... you should be fine as long as the surface is intact and properly prepped...

Props. This is what I was thinking as well.

As long as the object isn't in someway pulling away from the wall, a lot of weight can be held.... most are scared to mount TV wall mounts because of that.... as long as the proper hardware is used and you mount into studs, it's easy... I hung a 50" in my living room myself.... it's been there since 2005.....when sets were a bit heavier.... a 15lb set ain't shit and should be no problem with tape

Maybe, but you don’t want a stand taking up space in a small spare room used as a temporary guest bedroom.
Wall mounting is far more aesthetically pleasing... mofos putting flat screens on stands..... :smh:

I do hate when the damn TV is hung up too damn high or over the fireplace (unless you have one of those motorized wall mounts that swing down).

Made sure to have the ones that I have hung up at eye level.
Some of us are tall, so eye level is different.

Also, when sitting on sofa, you still have it at eye level?

What's the best way to mount TV on a brick fireplace, a 55"+ TV. Right now its using the feet it came with sitting on the mantle.

That’s the thing. It’s just temporary so I didn’t want to go through all that:

You can't just put it on a desk ...

Because the chances of it falling is pretty high..

Shit could seem as solid as fuck as first..

Then paint could come between the adhesive and wall...

And that tv will come crashing down

I'm 5'11"... Y'all 6'3"+ cats be fucking up the vertebrae of shorter folks, lol. But Distance and TV size give a bit of leeway when mounting. If the only place you can mount the TV is over the fireplace, make sure there's a) enough distance between the TV and seating area, b) tilt the TV down a few degrees, and/or c) have reclining seating. Or have something like this (full disclosure, I don't know the legitimacy of this product, I'm just showing it as an example)

The tall argument makes no sense. Are y'all standing watching TV? I just don't like looking up to watch. When I go to the movies I sit where the screen is eye level. All my TV's are on stands at eye level when I'm sitting.

nothing over one pound hanging on a wall should be mounted with

adhesives....

you expect to stay on a wall for more than a few years.. then find that stud and get a drill

and some anchors and do it the right away.. its really not that hard at all...
This right here. I got some paintings that I got from garage sale. They're not that heavy but they are at least 50 years old because the person's father bought them back in Vietnam in 1967

I used adhesives for four of them, and two of them fell. Thankfully, the frame is sturdy as shit and they didn't break or even crack. I'm hoping to check to see what these paintings are worth because they're all from the same painter (Chien)

But if you spent money on what you're hanging I would hang it properly

Op was watching die hard like hey if you can tape a gun to your back you should be able to tape your tv to your wall..thanks Bruce Willis

A perfectly hung picture makes a big difference and could make or break the overall look of the area..

Its always good to center the picture properly with a measuring tool too...

As far as the paintings bruh a fuckin Original Chien sells for fuckin millions...

It's just nowadays there are so many fakes out...

It's not even funny...

They even had fakes sell for Originals at prestigious auction houses..

But you really need to check that out...

Who would I call to find more information on these? BGOL is the shit

At a garage sale last year I came across a guy down the street from me selling paintings that were in his dad's basement after his dad died.

His dad in Vietnam, so these paintings, all by the same artist, Chien, are a minimum of 50 years old. I bought them for $9 a piece.

I've tried, but haven't found anyone who knows about the artist, so any help anyone can offer would help. Any Vietnam Art History majors on here?

Thank you, man. If this hit you can expect a helluva lot more than Samuel Smith’s organic Hard apple cider, bruh. I put my name on that.

Do you know how crazy it would be to have some paintings worth a grip that I purchased for $9 each at a garage sale?

I've even been looking but Chien is such a common name...

At least I have approximate dates for when the seller's father got the paintings. I know they are Vietnam era

Man, now you got me thinking.. where or how else would I mount TV in a room that has the fireplace as the centerpiece

This is the rule you must follow...the load x 3x the weight. If the adhesive doesn't meet that, you are bound to have issues. FACTS
