They almost never mention details that specific. That's how they get you. Same with their buy one get one free phone ploys. They don't tell you that you pay one month and they give you credit the following month to offset the price for the duration of 24-36 months.

Most people responding aren’t at&t customers.. when seeing the thread we thought we can basically toss an old phone and exchange it for a new unlocked Samsung phone. But of course at&t knew lots of outsiders would try to hustle that offer and they threw in stipulations like being part of their subscription base. So this “deal” was only worth it to AT&T customers that didn’t plan on leaving.. so that’s pretty much the fuss like ohhhh those fucks had fine print with this offerWhy are people trippin so much over the idea of a "contract"?

I think it has something to do with cell companies cutting off 3G towers, by the end of this year
