Security guard shot at Lenox Square Mall, two suspects in police custody

ATLANTA - Atlanta police are investigating after a security guard was held at gunpoint and then shot during a robbery attempt at Lenox Square Mall Sunday night.

According to witnesses, around 8:30 p.m. two masked gunmen appeared to attempt to enter the mall after it was closed.

One suspect took off and ran across the street into the Westin reception area, a hotel employee said.

Investigators say two suspects were taken into custody Sunday.

According to officials, the security guard was taken to a nearby hospital and is listed in critical condition.

An investigation continues.

I worked in Buckhead over 10 years. Haven't been back in forever since getting a new career based in Dunwoody pre-covid.

Other than Trader Joe's there's not much reason for me to be there. Everything is overpriced. Dem whites and richies can have it if they want to break off from Atlanta.

A while ago I didn’t want them to break off from Atlanta but now I want them to break off from Atlanta but….. There is a lot of black people moved in the Buckhead area so I don’t know if that could happen right now they should have did this a few years ago

I worked in Buckhead, back in the late 90s to early 00s...back then, the clubs in the village were causing alotta the crime and they shut that shit down....mannnnnn, those were the days!

I had to walk past 3 or 4 clubs and bars to get to my car, after work...sheeeid, I parked literally across the street from where the Ray Lewis fight and stabbing happened. It was damn near impossible not to go out after work from Thurs-Sun...

Now, the major crime spike is national. It's not just an Atlanta thing. Kasim thinks/claims he can clean up the problem. But, they can't even hire enough police.

Any mayor of The A will do anything to keep Buckhead from breaking off and forming their own city; the results would be disastrous for what's left of Atlanta.

He put a lot of white people in the command structure this is why you start getting issues like what happen near the Wendy’s with the Atlanta Police Department. Atlanta has deep black roots and I do me very deep….anyone that comes and change that will get resistance. I know the city has some issues in the 90s but it was a much better city. I know Keisha Is not running for reelection but she did look out for the West End and the southside.

Been seeing these threads talking about how bad Lenox was but I wanted to hit the Nike store and decided to go. Within two minutes of getting out of my car and before I even got in the mall, I was already debating on beating a niggas ass.

Some dude stopped me to ask if I could use my phone to look up the hours to the Buckhead library, on a Sunday. Figured he was trying to do one of those snatch and run moves so I said nah but the library aint usually open on Sunday bruh. He gets mad and says "fuck it then, ol broke ass nigga" while walking away. It everything in my body to suppress the urge to engage this nigga. I don't know if the he was strapped or not but it didn't want yall to be making a thread about me over some dumb shit lol.
