Coach Andy Reid said that Kevin Kolb (concussion) will start against the Lions in Week 2 if he is cleared.
As expected. Even though Michael Vick looked tremendous in relief of an ineffective Kolb, Reid isn't going to bench his hand-picked quarterback of the future after one bad half. Vick can still be added by Kolb owners and those in deep leagues, but it's going to take a lot for Reid to make an official switch. If healthy, Kolb should gain some confidence against a woeful Lions' secondary next week.

...from the day McNabb was let go, Kolb was the starter...if he's healthy by sunday and able to play he's still the starter...One bad half, or an injury does not lose your starting job, and I'm a Vick fan....When Vick was hurt in Atl, Schaub became the starter, until Vick was healthy...When Kolb plays his way out of the job, (WHICH PROBABLY WON'T BE LONG), Vick takes over the job permanently....No matter how great Vick was sunday, Reid can't just say Vick is the starter after 1 half of play by Kolb....If he does that, he'll lose Kolb mentally for the rest of the season...
he ain't playing sunday so the "qb controversy" doesnt come into play until week 3 against the Jags.
...the problem was never McNabb, its REID....McNabb made Reid look good by being able to improvise in an offense that NEVER uses the run game...McNabb and Westbrook's athleticism made that offense work, but until Reid gets a running game, he'll never be able to win the big game...Vick can only do so much, he carried them the entire 2nd half against G.B...BY IMPROVISING and giving the defense fits...But when it came down to 1 play at the end, where REID as head coach, had to make a call, and RUN the ball for 1 yard , REID failed...how do you not have an RB , specifically used in that short yardage situation, thats just poor coaching, poor personnel, NO RUNNING GAME cost them the opportunity...you had a QB, who was gassed from all the scrambling for 2 quarters and now you want him to get you a yard, actually about 5 yards from shotgun, against a goal line D, with a weak, tired O-line????....there were 4 or 5 RB's on sideline to do that, and they were FRESH...Had Kolb been in the game, what would have been the call???...Kolb doesn't stand a chance in Reid's offense, without a legit running game to keep the defense honest, and with a weak O-line that can't protect him.....Kolb+ Reid= FAILURE....Vick + Reid = Eagles will go as far as Vick can CARRY THEM....just like with McNabb....same ole story...

His numbers speak for him, my point was Reid (and his offense) is the problem, not the QB's...just like in Philly, McNabb put up a W...1st game back, coming off an injury, wasn't sharp, wasn't crisp, but he got a W, THE BOTTOM LINE...Redskins don't exactly have great receivers either, but give them time, its a long season, just week 1...
just like McNabb you make a lot of excuse for his failures.
he is a good qb but in my personal opinion he doesnt have that killer instinct to be a great qb. he is not clutch.

as a kolb hater, and a vick supporter, that game was highly misleading. just like feely's games a couple years ago, empty stats are being taken seriously.
