wasnt mcnabb benched after starting bad in that ravens game a few years back, if kolb had played good that game, he would have certainly replaced mcnabb. vick started in kolbs place and lite it up. This is so true. The year before the Giants won the SB, I remember reading articles in the NY Post where they wanted to dump Eli. I also remember listening to the FAN during that time and most of the callers were ready to move on from Eli.

There aren't too many QB's in the NFL that strike fear in opponents hearts their first year as the full time starter. It takes time for those QB's to grow and become better. Now, Kolb could be a star. Kolb could be a complete bust. But he needs to be given the chance to be either one. Andy Reid is now giving him that chance.

Reid is not risking his career on Kolb. Although Reid has not won a Superbowl as a head coach, Reid is still in the top 4 of winning coaches over the past 10 years. If Reid were to get canned by Philly, he would be receiving multiple offers to coach other teams within 24 hours of his firing from Philly. Also, Philly just gave Reid an extension last season. So Andy isn't going anywhere for at least a few more years.

Good point. Of course, Reid and his need to pass play after play isn't going to do Kolb too many favors either.All those pass attempts is gonna get him beat up and Kolb appears to be less durable than McNabb was.
