Android 5.0 Lolipop Sucks major D

The only lollipop version I would use is 5.1.1 (only on nexus devices at the moment) , Samsung sells all these damn phones and is slow as hell with the updates.

Gotta give apple credit for all device software rollouts

5.0.1 was jumped to 5.0.2 then 5.1, and 5.1.1 pretty fast. Why even use 5.0.1 over kit kit 4.4.4? You can always use Odin and got back to 4.4.4

So nobody wants to give me 25 bucks...? Cheap bastids.. if your upgrade is buggy..try putting your phone into "recovery mode"<----(google it)..then wipe cache and reboot. This should clear up a lot of weird shit

For the battery problems I would suggest clearing the caches of each individual app.. or back your phone up then do a factory reset..

No issues with Lolipop on my S6 Edge

Like others say, it must be a Samsung thing..I've previously cleared Cache on some apps that were acting up after the update..but that didn't help..

I've also noticed that anytime I get a call..the first ring is normal, then any subsequent ring will be low as shit..laying on the table before I even touch it.

I had to restart it yesterday because the numbers on the lock screen number pad just disappeared and was replaced by rectangular digital blocks where the numbers use to be..:smh::smh::smh:

I'll try your first suggestion and let you know how it goes..thx!

I keep getting game ads from Google play store whenever I unlock my phone gs5 . Does anyone know how to turn that shit off?

Check your installed apps. You may have one or a couple of shady apps that use ads as revenue. You can stop the ads by either blocking the notifications or deleting the app.

On my Note 3

I know most of you are probably running this bullshit. I should have never updated. My alarm doesn't go off anymore, I dont get notifications unless I unlock my phone..I can't control my music from the lock screen like I use to...it runs hella slow and freezes every fucking half hr..

I have literally restarted my phone about 10 times since last Saturday...and I never use to have to restart it for anything...

same thing on my Note 4.

This update is killing my battery and makes my battery hot as hell on the note 4.

I called T-Mobile about this and i had to do a factory reset and no battery problem since then. But if i dial a number it doesn't connect and at automatically redials and if i receive a call it rings once and whoever was calling has to keep trying me. Side note i could not dial 611 from handset. LG G3

On my Note 3 (Sprint) rooted:

I first went with CM 12 5.1 from the nightly only issue I had was no Gear Manager for my Gear 2. Battery life unchanged and I had to learn how to change the notification settings.

Wanted my watch back so I went back to stock and did the Sprint OTA 5.0 and still no issues. Battery life/LTE/Notifications are good.

I prefer the look and feel of the 5.1 but until they get my Gear going gotta stay with 5.0.

I can see what song is playing in Pandora and control it from my Gear when the screen is locked.

all i know is this update knocked out mnicro sd card functionality on my s5..not happy about that shit at all

5.0.1 and 5.02 both suck monkey balls imo and NOT worth the trouble upgrading over a solid kit kat well developed rom imo.

now 5.1.1 is a whole other argument. this is the first android version that can compete with apple ios fluidity. Cm12.1 is the SHIT and the nexus release on my tablet is nice. I am not a fan of the material white/pastel shit, so I just use themes

i had all the problems you guys have on my note edge

i had to do a factory reset and now its amazing

My note4 is struggling to get 7 hours. Before this fucking update I can go a day and a half without charging. :smh::smh:

that's it?

my note 3 did an auto-update while my battery was below 15%.

the update didn't finish before the battery died and the bitch got stuck in an infinite loop.

had to do a factory reset and LOST EVERYTHING!

THAT'S THE BAD.

the good = all that bullshit i had accumulated on my phone got wiped out and this bitch running smooth as hell.

you have Note? If not, i wouldnt worry about it. The problems the OP is describing are specific to samsung devices. These issues do not exist on my nexus 5 and mexus 7. I get notifications on my lock screen and can control music from it. without having to unlock.

i have a note 3... my work, workhorse.

read above for what happened to it.

i denied the updates only to find out that after so many denials, it AUTO-UPDATES on its own.

I have the note edge. This is is 100% accurate. My notifications don't all show up on the edge any more they come across the top of my screen. The battery life is considerably shorter and the phone is slow. I want to go back to kit kat like yesterday.

My S4 is trying to do that, but I don't have enough space thankfully...hoping I don't lose all my stuff. The new update isn't compatible with my company's email app yet :smh:
