25% of college graduates don’t make more than the typical high school grad, per Bloomberg.

Americans with a college degree saw wages decline the most in two decades, per Bloomberg.

In 2022, median annual pay was $52,000 for Americans with a bachelor’s degree, according to data released by the New York Federal Reserve Friday.

That’s a 7.4% decline in inflation-adjusted terms — the steepest plunge since 2004, erasing nearly all of the pandemic-era gains. It was sharpest for those earning the most.

Meanwhile, wages accelerated 6% in real terms to $34,320 for those with only a high-school diploma — the biggest gain in more than two decades.

Recent graduates are still able to find work pretty quickly, with an unemployment rate of 4.1% in December. That compares with 3.9% in March 2020.

This is the same range of money our parents made 20 years ago if you lived in a major city.

Meanwhile wealthy people all added a zero to the number in their bank account

Republicans
Also, since there’s more minority people getting college degrees, some of these corporations are holding back the money from new graduates. People this is greed and racism.

Philippinoes coming from abroad and stealling all the good hospital jobs.
You ninjas better get with the program and go to school for some sort of medical degree. Cooperate American is not for us, you'll have a hard time competing with y-ppl when your boss is one of them.

I know more people without degrees now, who are making as much and many times more than people with. I’m sadly one of those suckers that got stuck with an expensive piece of paper. Smh
I just worked a gig do photos for a construction company they are paying cats out of high school to drive water trucks making 32.00 an hour with full bens.

That’s it bro and that’s just regular trade work. Let’s not begin with the stupid money people are making online. The amount of people I know doing e-commerce and drop shipping and earning BANK is nuts. They’re pulling in 6 figures like it’s nothing while I’m stuck doing their taxes smh

STEM and STEAM. You will always have a job....

I will agree, a college degree ain't for everybody, but you need something....Trade, community college, SOMETHING....HS diploma ain't cutting it today....

My barber was working at Walmart in the DMV area making $14 an hour. Now, somewhere in SC or maybe NC, you might be able to survive, but in the DMV that ain't SHIT....

It's funny, I was talking to the HAVOC dude a few weeks ago and he was telling me how much he makes at his company. While I wasn't surprised, what was interesting was the benefits...His wife is a teacher and he has a better health plan than here....
Dude has 401K ( I think the match is 7 or 8%) and etc.....

I tell people young and old you can never go wrong with healthcare....

Everyone always talk about MDs and Nurses, but there are so many other careers...Some only require a community college (Respiratory Tech or Sonogropher)

Others require a BS (Med. Tech or Nurse) or 2 years after a BS (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practioner)....

CRNA's make big bank...

Let's not talk about the business side of healthcare....Healthcare administrators make MONEY!!!!!!!

Go look at what the CEO or COO of a hospital makes...Some of these cats making NBA and definitely NFL money.....

Add in Healthcare IT. There are a lot of protocols and technology unique to that field that you don't get taught in typical IT classes. If you can learn DICOM or HL7, you can make good bank.

BRO!!!! HL7 is the future!

EPIC, E clinical works, Cerner, and etc...These EHR vendors are a hot bed of HIT...

It's so many health tech companies coming out....I talk to atleast 1 or 2 vendors a month about some of things they are working on.....

An HR person was talking to me about this last year. Her theory was as more black people get degrees the salaries ARE GETTING lowered to stem the outrage from their lower paid white co-workers.
Fixed....One of my homies works at Southwest and is seeing it start in IT as a matter of fact. The Indians are rolling out creating IT consulting firms.

Yup...Samething in healthcare IT...Alot of folks are starting their own startups with the hopes of being bought out by a big company....

Anyone that is in Health IT, you definitely should be attending the HIMMS conference that is held every year.

Depends on the state and city/ area you live in. You definitely can get a high paying job in nyc with just a ged/ highschool diploma . It also dosent have to be a trade. As I’ve said on here b4 1 of the best and quiet circuits you can work for in nyc is a union hotel job. Lot of those careers start you at the $ 24+ an hr range or more depending job. With night differential, benefits, yrly raises, lots of overtime, depending what position tips, bonuses, etc. there’s a reason why they are very secretive about those jobs and many times you have to be put on by someone that’s already plugged in. It’s a reason why certain people will literally have their spouses, siblings, children, etc working at the same place or in the same genre. Lot of people making 6 figs a yr. Lot of connections and networking. As I’ve said on here b4 1 of my best friends make over 90,000 a yr( b4 you add in overtime, bonuses, etc/ he makes 6 figs once you include everything) literally moving chairs and tables for the hall at his hotel. He said many of days he sits around doing shit collecting free money, sometimes if he actually does something it’s probably for an hr or 2 at most, put 10 chairs here 3 tables there for some small conference with some outside company that had to use his hotel for a meeting.. he like there’s security that’s making 40 an hr not including overtime or night differential at his spot. So many people clocking 6 figs and most people have no idea or look down at hotel employee not knowing them workers more likely make more money than them.. this is just one circuit of several circuits in ny that zero college is needed to make really good money in this town. Lot of people just don’t know about these opportunities

Correct and same in DC...

You can work for Metro or certain DC Gov. jobs only require a HS Diploma so you are 100%...

Cats working on the metro train making over 100K a year with a HS Diploma...

My homeboy dad worked for NYC Metro and retired when he was in his early 50s. Moved to NC, built a house, and gets a pension check every month....Dude is in his 80s now and hasn't work in 30 years....

It's definitely a regional thing or what you are willing to put with work wise....

I currently work for 1 of the major PACS and EIS providers in the country. I have to deal with 3rd party vendors like Cerner, Iguana, etc.. for hospital workflow setups. Proper HL7 communication setups are the main engine that keeps these hospitals going. It covers their billing systems, their patient reporting and a shit load of other things that are critical to their daily functionality.

Yup. HL7 is long overdue and should have been the standard, but it's finally leaning towards a MUST now....

My previous position with my current company was setting up the demo systems for our PACS, CV and EIS applications for trade shows. I used to go to shows like HIMMS, SIMMS and RSNA all the time. HIMMS is the main show based around medical tech in general while the others are more focused on certain modalities and specialties.
