Americans, since you do not know good music, allow me to demonstrate it!

you're such a loser Nzinga, and your knowledge of music is so limited. It's simply not worth it. But since I know you're really a white by from Texas, and that all your posts are jokes, I enjoy the comedic elements.

What is the new time capsule....? I have the hottest that was released last week, that everyone is talking about, called Cocktail Molotov by Biya Chante who sung for Pepe Kalle... My friends in Brussels and the Netherlands send me these things within hours of their release.

The difference is that the music of TP OK Jazz is historic, it is classic, it is monumental. Nothing as good was produced before, then or since... This is the gold standard, the cadillac of music...

I know enough about you to know that in your own mind, Africans have moved on to prefer the psuedo Rap and RnB of bullshit musicians like JK... I know your views in music, and there is nothing you can tell me...

In my signature, I have Werrason who is the hottest thing going right now. His Techno Malewa, released late last year, is still the hottest album. We are awaiting Techno Malewa 2, just as we are waiting for JB Mpiana's Soyons Serrieux... This is the latest in music, and there is really nothing you can tell me.

However, no one in Zaire would compare this stuff to TP OK Jazz..

You have not answered my question, I asked you when you last set foot in africa. Brussels is like the congo because theres a lot of congolese people living there so there opinion on music doesn't account for the whole continent. I noticed you mentioned that you left for america in the 90's , could this be the real reason why you missed or don't understand that african music has moved on .

Werrason was in Zambia recently, as was Tshala Muana, as was Koffi, as was JB Mpiana; Wazekwa was there last month and Fally Ipupa will be there this month... Coupe de calle which is very popular is nothing but cheap Zairian music. You already showed me the crap you think is the new African music, and it is very clear from there that you as lost and misguided as the Nigerians who follow 2Face.

Nzinga you are impervious to facts that don't conform to your tastes. Congolese musicians visit zambia all the time but their concerts in comparison with other artists concerts is just too much. Take Two face idibia who had one of africans biggest selling songs african queen his concert in lusaka nearly shut down the city, thats something no rhumba musician can ever claim. You have lost touch with african music , being away for so long can do that to you. WHy is it that the music you claim is the most popular in africa is only known to you on this board, theres posters on here that have posted songs by p-square, two face, salif keita even bracket that at least 5 board members know? Reality cannot be changed by disagreeing , what I find strange is that the majority of african night clubs in africa barely play the music you claim is popular

If the music of a continent was the average of all the creations of its musicians, this foolish woman would bring our average almost down to zero... Why??????

Thank you.

Now shut that shit up and be selective about what you listen to and classify as good American music.

You know who's controlling what you hear if you are talking about the radio.

You need to quit this shit...I was talking to some people I know in Zambia today and they are all excited about Koffi Olomide's concert at Taj Pamodzi at the end of this month...

2Face is the number 1 selling African artist? I traverse African record stores, African food stores, and I have never seen a 2Face cd anywhere. However, everyone has Koffi, Werra, JB etc, usually bootlegged. Koffi Olomide has played in nearly every black African country, and even in Arab ones like Morocco; other the stupid MTV Africa channel, who gives a fuck about an African rapper?

We do not to shut that stupid woman up... She looks retarded. If she was my relative, I would seriously consider disowning her.

Look African Booty Scratcher Cut this bullshit out. No one wanna here this horse shit.

MOTOWN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ALL YOUR BULLSHIT

A child who does not travel thinks his mother is the best cook..

Nzinga, I know we go back and forth a lot, but please listen to me on this here: DO NOT take Acur seriously. All he wants out of life is some pomade for his processed doo, a nice seersucker pantsuit, and a fresh pair of Hush Puppy bucks, and he's good.

Has it ever dawned on you that you are getting the opinions of zambians that share your musical taste? Popular artists perform at stadiums not hotel banquet rooms that fit less than a 100 people. If the msuic you claim is popular how come it's virtually none existant on any zambian tv or radio media. Not only that Channel o Look at any zambian or african music website and see what music is popular. If you search the biggest media platforms in africa like channel O or MTV base where african music is played from requests from fans theres very little rhumba played go to their website and show me why this popular music you claim is nowhere in the charts. How can you argue me who is in africa at least once a year when you are musically cut off in texas ?

Since you choose to lie, hoping that in the absence of evidence, people will believe whatever you claim, I will invoke the first hand report of someone from Lusaka, who was there...and if you continue to make false claims, I will produce another report in two weeks from those who attend the completely sold out concerts at Taj Pamodzi and Barclays Sports Complex.... Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe...By the way, Koffi will be in Zambia in 10 days...

Koffi Olomide arrived in the country on 24th June at 20:00hrs with a 28 member band. Thursday he went to lay some wreaths at Embassy Park where our former beloved President rests. Friday, he had two talk shows in the morning with radio stations namely Radio 4 and QFM. In the afternoon he was at Arcades Shopping Mall signing autographs and picture taking with fans.

His coming here was made possible by Zain Zambia and Chez Ntemba International. This is the second Congolese Group Zain Zambia has brought in the country, the first being Defao somewhere in February for Valentines Day. The first concert was at Taj Pamodzi and the charge was ZMK350, 000.00 (roughly US$ 68.00). It was parked such that some people were just standing coz all the seats had been taken. The second one was at the Down Town PlayPark, it was equally parked, it is evident that us Zambians love Koffi Olomide very much compared to any other Congolese artist. In turn Koffi said that he loved Zambia very much and wanted a “Zambian wife” for himself.

Among the band members who came was Suzuki, it was good seeing him for the very first time in my life and the guitarist Binda Bass. Overall performance was SPLENDID. The other band members came on stage at around 21:30hrs, did songs like Attentant, SWI, Monde Arabe and Piwawa. Koffi came around 22:30hrs with the dancing queens and Cindy and we did a moment of Silence for Michael Jackson and afterwards, it was party time, his first song was Magie and the crowd just went crazy, it was a night to remember, he later on introduced Cindy and I must say that she has a marvelous voice and knows how to dance, the male folk was mesmerized by her and (I must say that HaHa, you have stiff competition across the globe), he even sang my favourite Effrakata and Ultimatum.

Invited some Zambian women on stage to show the dancing queens how the Zambians do it, it was just nice. It was also one of the dancing queens birthday, Shekina was her name, they sang her the happy birthday song and Koffi gave her some flowers while Cindy gave her a bottle of Champagne and she did a solo one more time, which she seemed to enjoy a lot. The concert ended around 02:00 hrs and everyone was satisfied with the band’s performance.

We now here that Werrason will be coming in August to grace the Zambia Agricultural Commercial Show and later on do some shows, so we are just crossing our fingers and hoping that he comes.

You have been away so long that you think thats a huge crowd:smh: Let me repeat Huge artists sell out stadiums not sports complexes or hotel rooms. This just proves my point how can a star you claim is international do events where Teenage musicians sell out every week. If thats your litmus test for popular music then your argument falls flat. How is an internation star according to you playing at the agriculture show while Brick and lace are playing at a bigger venue? Even the ticket price is a giveway . Nzinga rhumba music is not popular, if it was it would be on the Sounds CD chart , ask your friends what are the top selling cd's in zambia

Where is your evidence?????? A sports Complex, such as Barclays Sports Complex near Lusaka Showgrounds, is a big venue that comfortably seats several thousands.... It may not be the size of Stadium de Matyrs in Kinshasa, but it is still an outdoor venue... What you are stating makes no sense... The only way Koffi Olomide can come to Zambia is either through South Africa by charter flght. Add on this the costs of shipping 28 musicians, renting equipment and the venue, there is no way you can recover the cost from 100 people, so you are obviously lying....If you continue with your lies, I will get an accurate count from the sponsor or Koffi Olomide himself... You say I have been gone too long; these pictures are from last year... and because of the success of these concerts, Koffi Olomide is coming back to Zambia next week. How much more up to date can someone be than to talk about events that have not yet even happened?

Werrason playing before a small crowd of 100..

Where are the videos of the popular musicians??? So far you have produced Zero concert videos of these great artists... Everything you have said, I have refuted with pictorial or video evidence....

I see a couple garbage artists here behind some whack ass band in some small ass basement club.

Zamsure sports complex is not a big venue Nzinga, look who is lying. Am sure you remember the big venues like Mulungushi , woodlands stadium or even indepence stadium. Am sure you remember the last big rhumba concerts were of Tshala mwana and Franco back in the 90's

This is how big zamsure sports complex is

Since you want evidence I will salvage a few small concerts

Here is a little concert by the gospel act HIllsong(notice how big there stage is ). Now if we use your logic that a picture of a concert is a way of showing how popular music is then HILLSONG are better than Koffi Olomide
hillsong-1.jpg

Heres even more proof, THis is a wack ass musician from zambia who happens to be my neighbour but look at the crowd he pulls

Explain yourself Nzinga How can wack artists and CAC gospel singers outsell musicians you claim are popular in africa??

The reason why I did not answer your false claims up to this time was that I put them before Zambian members of an African music forum and waiting for them to answer. I could have called my relatives in several countries in Southern and Central Africa, and had them confirm what I was saying, but that would have been an 'I said, you said'...

so I put the following questions to the Zambian forum members:

1. Where was this show here held?

Answer: the place should be Zambia Independence Day celebrations by the poeple in UK
___________________________________________________________

I personally I thought that the bullshit was being held at the MTV Africa studio in Kenya... But either way, how can you post a video of a Zambian at a variety show in the UK and claim to show proof of his popularity in Zambia? As I have told you before, I have BEEN to Zambia before and passed near Mass Media Center. I knew right away that that place was not in Zambia. I have seen broadcast facilities in many African countries including Zambia, so I know that of which I speak...

You might want to do yourself a favour and go Kin and see the TeleCongo facilities..

I remember when you posted a picture of either Kabulonga, Woodlands or Longacres and claimed that that was a poor area in Zambia.. Yeah right.. I have been to Lusaka, Ndola, Kitwe to say nothing of border towns like Chililabombwe,,, that place was no Masala or Kalingalinga..It was more like Mt Fleury where Koffi Olomide has one of his mansions..

Zambian music for many years has compromised its identity because, like South Africans, Zambians were liable to reproduce whatever they heard from the West. If you are sitting here and trying to convince people on this forum that Zambians are making progress because they sound like Jamaicans, know that behind your back they (and I) are feeling sorry for, and laughing at, you..

2. Is this guy more popular than JB, Werra or Koffi?

Answer: (my Zambian source told me to) Lastly tel that guy never to compare JK to Werrason and Koffi, not even JB. JK and most Zambian artists are into this computer age and play no instruments. Its my country but I need to tell the truth. JK is a crowd puller but not at the same level of the Congo greats.

He added:

(people like JK) are not popular more than JB, Koffi or Werra. How come paying even 10 dollars for them is difficult and yet Koffi, poeple pay 50USD?

Come on, the broadcast facilities in Zambia may be beneath those of a minor studio like Mama Angebi in Kinshasa, never mind TeleCongo....

:smh:

You have been away too long

Thats not in the UK because 1. I know the promotors of all Uk shows(sondiz entertainment) who hold their events at the Stratford rex in East London and that is not stratford rex 2. Thats in Africa because thats recorded on african TV network M-net . The rapper you see in the Video(cactus agony) has never even performed in the UK. And even if that was in the UK which it isn't thats a far impressive crowd size for artists you claim aren't popular. Your source in Zambia is either none existant or a liar because information twisting that bad is just laughable

Secondly Your ignorance is highlighted by your little to lack of information. Maybe when you left Zambia the only place that was available was Mass media. Now they are at leats 6 tv channels and various media groups that produce quality images. Take this for example

Am sure your image of Zambia is a superimposed image of the 90's folk music seared onto your brain. This is why I keep telling you being away for so long and living in Texas has made you create your own universe where Rhumba music is supposedly popular. If it was so popular why are artists like werrason performing at agriculture shows and not even touring the country? If Rhumba is so popular tell your friends to take pictures to show how this so called crowd is, if you can't i can get my friends to do that for you

Fine, whatever..

Lets not get caught up in who has the best studio, can produce the best videos..yada yada,..

Lets get down to the basics. What I want from you, is the concert video, of any Africa rapper, showing more size in audience numbers, than the sellout concerts of Werrason and Koffi I have posted.

If 'unpopular rumba' musicians can have concert videos, the wildly popular rappers you are talking about, surely should have no problem doing the same...

If you show me a video from another country, as you tried to do with that ZamRagga bullshit, I will have Zambian rebut your claims again...

So quit talking and post videos of live concerts of these highly popular Zambians playing before a Zambian audience...
