AMAZING FRATERNITY PROBATE VIDEO!!!...If you are Greek you MUST WATCH!!

Always ONE salty ass hater.... I posted the video because of the quality of the production.... the way he captured the moment and emotion.... but your hating ass still stuck on when you got ya girl stolen. :smh::smh:

They don't understand art man.. They listen to crap as rappers, and consider that art.. THIS... THIS was art. The music. the videography, the emotion.. was on point.

It represents a struggle. It represents strength and unity. It represents character. All things our youth, particularly our men are drastically lacking.

If you can't seen anything positive in it, then I gather you haven't seen much in your life.

Great video.

You can tell who has been through and who hasn't

Respect

I never pledged but this was an excellent clip and well done...

Ive met those who praise frats and some you despise them...

are there any good books/films that REALLY go into Black Frats...

not School Daze?

I know they got a lot of secret stuff and the abuses are well known but I

think this would help their image...

although some of the emotions are "unsettling" for a buch a college kids.

but if I was young and black and in school I would want to learn more

Black men dont need to join a gang to live struggle in this CAC nation.

There aint a damn thing positive about a bunch of niggas joining a gang and focusing on shit that does not matter when we have horrible college graduation rates.

At the university I attended African-American males have a horrible 36% graduation rate. I can state with certainty that in the last 20 years only one member of my fraternity did not graduate- and that had more to do with having a baby and not the frat.

In fact, the black males in fraternities at the university overall are at 90% graduation.

There was a point in time where black men had to 'gang' up to survive on 'cac' college campuses. Alpha was started at Cornell in 1906, Kappa at Indiana in 1911. Being black during those times was a challenge enough, just imagine going to a white college.*

Much of that history and success was passed on. The process represents strength that can come from such an extreme struggle.

Many are still stuck in the embittered stage of their own life's process. Most that don't make it into or out of their pledge process are angry as well. It is what it is, but sometimes things you don't understand aren't bad or stupid... you just don't understand them. :dunno:

Its not 1906 or 1911 fam. Our struggle now is black men are not finishing college. We need to put ALL of our focus in that.

This is a short list... but the point I'd like to make is that there are several hundred thousand black fraternity and sorority members that are character filled and prominent. To paint all members of fraternities and sororities with the pejorative brush that you've seemingly chosen is counter productive and logically fallacious. I don't know how much more character Marting Luther King Jr. could have had. Bill Cosby is displaying his commitment to his own principles whether they are commonly held or not to this day. Johnnie Cochrane is a legendary figure even in death. George Washington Carver was no ones follower. Huey P. Newton was no ones follower. In fact he's the definition of a leader. We're not going to even list all of the beautiful sisters but Maya Angelou (author), Mae Jemison (astronaut), Rosa Parks (civil rights), Coretta Scott King (activist), Dr. Betty Shabaz (educator), Hattie McDaniels (actor) and Zora Neale Hurston (writer, anthropologist) should be enough to at least suggest that you reexamine your position.

Yo--did MJ, Shaq, Penny, Malone, and Emmitt actually go through 'the process' as undergrads? or are they just honorary members? I always been curious when I hear these cats are Greeks, cause I know for a fact it would be tough to do that & play ball

As for the video--it's cool--I ain't Greek (my pops was) main reason is because I went to a white college in New England...if I had went to an HBCU or even a white school down south I probably would have done something

I'm with you, we need more educated brothers. Not sure why you're so convinced black fraternities are working against graduation. This is where we disagree.

Your school is the exception to the rule then.

Not really. Of the 12 on my line, everybody has at least a Masters. We have two PhDs and one JD. Don't generalize. My bruhs are community leaders and captains of industry. Don't project your own personal and professional inadequacies on brothers who are actually getting it done. By the way, black people have been trying to get a national MLK memorial built for over 35 years. My frat got it done. Google it if you don't believe me and then go visit it this summer.

We don't. I don't know what school Chiyo went to, but I can tell you from chapters I personally know and other people who I trust would be honest with me tell me all the time about Black Fraternity members who graduate. I would wager if someone did a study on the graduation rates that Black Men in Fraternities would be higher than Black men not in fraternities. Are there some knuckleheads that only pledge then drop out, of course. The only thing you can do is vet the people and try to avoid that.

As for my chapter, until 07, we had a 100% (yes ALL of out members) graduate college with at least their bachelors. And the only reason it is still not 100% now is that one of my sands got singed and went to NY to sing. With the countless programs and projects we do with the community and campus especially in the areas of RETENTION and helping KIDS GET TO COLLEGE you can't tell me we don't serve a purpose and are not trying to get black men to graduate.

So since you are pointing the finger, what are you doing to help b/c I'm working with a high school college prep program and I'm a big so I am making my contribution. I'm curious to see what you are doing to make things better? But honestly I don't expect you to answer.

Okay I'm done now...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA PHI!!!!!
*ape walks out of room*

Dap?
its that you?

well I KNOW Emmitt Smith did cause I saw pictures of him during his process at Conclave a few years back...Jerry Rice as well, not too sure about Karl Malone.... Blu - Phi till I die! And big ups to my PHA fam in here And the SHRINE!

Very powerful glimpse of a long, hard, journey

Never pledged a Greek Frat

But have been obligated 32;) times.......as well as crossed the Desert once!

Props to the Alpha's for continuing to positively contribute to the African-American

community by awakening potential leaders mindset to a greater cause........

To the haters calling the process of and the mindset of those joining a fraternity or

sorority "weak" ..........Fuck you........no really fuck you ........

it's pussies and bitches like you with a crab in

a barrel mentality that are not cut out for lives that help out and benefit others.

The process into a frat/soro is a learning process where the pledge's/candidate's

mettle is tested......some will succeed others will fail but as an organization you have to

know who is willing to be tried, never denied, and ready to be tried again.

Just think how different the world would be if MLK had a pussy ass mindset!!!!!

Them boys look like they been victims of rape, torture, violence and lack of sleep.

IF they put that much energy into getting some game so they could actually get women to pay attention on their own imagine how powerful they really would be. Instead of standing in a line dancing like sissy's pretending to be hard they really could build their CHARACTER and shine from the inside out like stars. And, Yeah they really want to be a part of the frat bad, too bad they aint "real man enough" to man up and start their OWN shit ironically like their
frat founders...lol! Black idiots will worry about being a part of a group by 21 meanwhile little nerdy white boys are starting tech companies and internet sites by 21.

Get the fuck outta here with this bullshit... Niggas need to WAKE UP. Black men stay losing for a reason.

The BLACK BETA MALE has to be the saddest male walking planet EARTH.. Dance your hearts boys while the world keeps passing you by...

real talk

a lot of those "dancing" black men go on to lead top companies and invent many things to help humanity. a lot don't broadcast being part of an organization.

a lot of these "dancing" "beta" males go on to help the communities as well. out here in queens ny the omegas got a community center, the alphas got a elder center and they all of them mentor the youth in our communities to become better men and encourage them to go school and get an education.

if any of that is losing than we all should lose. u should upset and a black man in a frat musta took your girl or u got rejected from being on a line.

are frats all good? no, a lot of frauds, knuckleheads and silly shit but the good outweighs the bad. the good that many do and have done is something our black community should respect and strive to encourage.

yeah..but at what cost?

Again, WAKE UP nigga. I graduated from a HBCU, the allusion an organization can provide a lame man of being "the man" is different from being A MAN. If a boy in a fraternity stole a woman of mine then she wasn't mine in the first place please wake up the game recognize game-CHUUCH. What did I need to pay some other lame dudes to beat and rape me to hang in their group?? A male willing to do that is desperate and is susceptable to do anything if no one is around if you know what i mean...FISH. Who you think you fooling? Gorillas and monkeys hang in packs but a LION really doesn't need anyone to convince a Lioness to bring him home something to eat. IF a man is gonna hate, at least let it be something worth hating on. See, a CAC like MArk Zuckerburg creates and owns Facebook which is worth a couple of billion, and that dude aint even 30. That's some shit to hate on, not a bunch a soft ass niggas dancing and stomping like a bunch of faggots in a prison back room for entertainment you fucking IDIOT. Simple niggas value simple things. Again A REAL MAN can stand by his self and SHINE. No need to dance or stomp, the bitches by nature are paying attention to the real THING.

real, real talk...like someone stated in another thread..niggaz always tryna do what whitey does. why go thru humiliation like that just to be accepted? a lot of them dudes look like they suffering from self esteem problems, getting treated like they bitches and shit. mentally getting raped, i wouldnt rule out physically!

I haven't met one Black Greek at any of my jobs since I've been in the petro chemical world. Now when I was in Education the Prinicipal was a Kappa but it's not hard to be a Principal.

Question for the Alphas who always talk about mentoring. Do you tell the young males how you were abused, beaten, and the other things online to them? Do you tell them how you were humiliated like the slaves were to be accepted into an organization. I've always thought Greeks had a prison mentality.

how much mentoring do you do?

Kappa Alpha Psi represented here. Every company I have worked for had greeks. I don't knock anyone for not pledging. I do know that I have brothers that have my back in any circumstance. I am also in the 100 Black Men and there is no brotherhood in the organization but good things are done for the kids.
