You're correct. It's a manifestation of the divide and conquer mentality whitey has been promoting in us from the door. If we kept that in mind, and looked at everything from the perspective of "how is this dividing us instead of uniting us?" we'd go a long, long way IMO.

And I was trying to tell some brothers and sisters from the Caribbean how the reason the different islands had beef with each other (for no real earthly reason) is because that's what the slave owners instilled in them to keep them on the island, working their plantations.
Needless to say, they wanted to argue me into the atmosphere even when presented with evidence.
So, I said: "if disunity is not our biggest problem, why are you fighting me about it?"

From my experiences, a fair amount of West indians have been down. Now you got certain ones who think they're better than Black Americans and we know they're not, I had to check some who got out of line. But, I've joined clubs where people who are Haitian, Jamaican, Beijian, Dominican from Dominica not DR, St. Lucia, T&T, etc. that's been involved in black struggle issues. But I haven't met any Africans yet.

But the woman in the video is talking about those black Hispanics who try to be black when it's convenient. Those type of people can't be trusted cause they can switch up when shit gets too hot.

....Oh and yeah the girl's argument about her being Afro-Latina vs African-American is stupid. She surmised Amara was saying she wasn't Black or was somehow referring to herself as being a different RACE than us here. Not so. All of our roots come from Africa. Her ancestors were slaves just as many of ours were. Unfortunately, many of her countrymen are still mentally enslaved. Evidently, Amara rejects that conditioning and claims her roots.

Afro-Latina and Afro/African-American refers to CULTURE. Given that we have the common history of having ancestors who were brought here through the slave trade, she is not culture vulturing us at all with her afro hair style. It was a defiance against the self-professed superiority of white beauty standards. We're all Black. And that's what pan-africanism is: an embrace of a common struggle against a common enemy.

The girl on the video's argument that Amara still speaks Spanish is just as stupid as her not noting that she herself speaks English - which is as much a language of Europeans as Spanish.

Amara maybe different from other Hispanics but far too often others take advantage of these stupid niggaz then they’re left out figuring what the fuck happened. She's right. And for the record the term Latino and Latina is a racial marker for the southern Europeans such as Italians who were able to pass as Anglo Saxon. After hundreds of years of genocide against indigenous Maurs/Moors as part of the inquisitions that took place throughout Europe.

If you are of the Black race, you're Black first, then where ever you come from second. She's describing "Blackness" from the African American point of view, and for the purpose of her argument, that's misguided and wrong. Not even Indigenous Black Africans waste their time with this issue.

That’s right.

She’s also twisting what she claims Amara said to mean what she wants it to mean and only succeeds in coming off sounding jealous. Amara is not African-American. She is ethnically Afro-Latina. Amara never denied being BLACK. By virtue of her referring to herself as AFRO-Latina she affirms her Blackness/African-ness each time she speaks. Her chosen hairstyle is an obvious statement of her rejection of white beauty standards.

Hair weaves and wigs have been worn by Africans going back to antiquity, so her weak attempt to declare Amara as hypocritical or fraudulent on that basis sounds stupid as hell. Amara publicly stated that she often wears a wig. Never claimed otherwise.

Hate is cancerous.
