Allen Iverson: Legacy Intact?.................

....Probably. Nobody really expected A.I. to assume a basketball role short of 'starting'. , no more, no less.He did ask the Grizzles for an "indefinite leave-of-absence",after feeling dissed by having to enter games as a sub. He was heard to utter, "Man, enough is enough" (this comment probably produced memories of his recent Piston' experience). But this was the ultimate insult, with a team distend as an NBA 'floormat'. The Grizzles are currently 1-6.

He probably felt that by signing Memphis his role was going to be as a starter. What future HOF'er would expect less. Especially with a team 'strapped' for want of a NAMED player(s).

Of course Marc Gasol could be projected as such, but that's for the future.

In the meantime, Grizzles coach, Lionel Hollins, is more worried about team improvement, and has very little to say about his star--albeit somewhat selfish-- player.

At any rate, A.I.'s "legacy' won't be damaged...he is what he is.

Yo AI will go down as ALL talent and NO discipline will NEVER give a championship

I never thought of him as a HOF'er but i suppose he'll get in. Definitely one of the most unique players to ever play. He hasn't really damaged his legacy, he's pretty much always been this way. No one really expected him to win a championship with Memphis anyway. especially with the lakers out there.

Yeah....I feel for the guy also,but......

He has brought this all on himself....if he could have changed his game,to be more team-oriented,he would have been more wanted.
He should be on Cleveland...or Boston, playing a role and trying to make his game blend in with the rest.

Put the ego aside, greater players than him have done it...Tiny Archibald for one.

They spoke on AI today on ESPN First Take and Doug Stewart tried to come off like people/teams are hating on AI because of his hair and tats.

Kneegro PLEASE!

If AI was balling out of control he would be starting, its time for him to either get comfortable coming off the bench or retire.

His legacy is in tact and he is a Hall Of Fame player for sure

But as O-Dawg would probably say to him "Nigga you acting like a lil bitch right now!"

Fuck that they playin AI. I mean honestly with or with out AI Denver wont gone win a chip. Detroit wont gone win no chip with or without AI either. He got alot of shit wit him nodoubt but come on. To say he cant start for the Grizzlies is disrespectful. It dont seem as much about as his game as to me it seems like they want him to submit. Hes a strong man hes always had to have that chip on his shoulder since he was the smallest playin the type game he has. His strongest gift is his curse. Even in regular life on a regular job people in a position of power dont like a blackman who not havin it and dose his job.Just my 2 cents Peace

Iverson will never be a starter again in the league. If he were to see the big picture he could be a helluva 6th man like Jamal Crawford in Atlanta. Iverson said it himself that if he were playing for a contender ( Celtics, Cavs, Lakers ) he wouldnt have no problem riding the pine.

i think he just been dealt a bad hand since he been in the nba.....kinda of like patrick ewing or dan marino with the nfl and now the way things have been going for him nobody with a champ potential team want to give him a chance....just let him play his game and i think he would be alright cause he still got a lot of play left in him:yes::yes::yes:

LOL, the Pistons were heading to the playoffs and instead of coming off the bench trying to help the team this muhfucka was no where to be found.

Then the dumbazz got banned from the Downtown casinos because of his fucked up behavior.

A.I. is full of shit.

You know its bad when you are a millionaire and a casino don't want your money.

By no means is he washed up. All he needs is a team with NO other good guards, no plan and no direction so he can be the centerpiece and take all the shots. Oh and a WHITE coach because if it's a black one he won't be happy...............................................

New Jersey anyone??
:(

PS: If that does happen, Brook Lopez immediately becomes available for trades on all my fantasy squads

There are 4 main contenders for the NBA Championship.

Lakers
Magic
Celtics
Cavs

The PGs for those teams are

Derek Fisher
Jameer Nelson
Rajon Rondo
Mo Williams

None of those cats are above AI. AI can replace any of those PGs and the team will still be enroute to win the Championship.

None of those guy are enroute to the Hall of Fame.

The AI hate is like he is boning some yall women's on a nightly.

He just needs to get out of this contract with the Grizzlies and wait for one of those PGs to get injured or just say fuck it and go back to rappin.

Looks like his retirement is close to being official.

His legacy is intact and he was definitely one of the all time greats.
