....Probably. Nobody really expected A.I. to assume a basketball role short of 'starting'. , no more, no less.He did ask the Grizzles for an "indefinite leave-of-absence",after feeling dissed by having to enter games as a sub. He was heard to utter, "Man, enough is enough" (this comment probably produced memories of his recent Piston' experience). But this was the ultimate insult, with a team distend as an NBA 'floormat'. The Grizzles are currently 1-6.
He probably felt that by signing Memphis his role was going to be as a starter. What future HOF'er would expect less. Especially with a team 'strapped' for want of a NAMED player(s).
Of course Marc Gasol could be projected as such, but that's for the future.
In the meantime, Grizzles coach, Lionel Hollins, is more worried about team improvement, and has very little to say about his star--albeit somewhat selfish-- player.
At any rate, A.I.'s "legacy' won't be damaged...he is what he is.
