I was talking about SOAP in another thread not long ago

Forgotten subversive smart funny work.

Yeah I was watching it on a feed from CHCH tv station and guess what it got replaced by Jeffersons about a month to two months ago lol.

That show has SO MANY politically incorrect characters lol.

I read up on the show getting yanked even with good ratings because the station back in the day were losing advertisers and sponsors over the content.

I found out Benson was suppose to end up with Jessica Tate, but they couldn't do it since the show got canned out of the blue.

Susan Harris is said to have the "lineage" written up to 5 seasons. They weren't too sure on how long Benson would last(it ended up being 7 seasons lasting longer than the original show he was on). The plan supposedly was Jessica Tate was going to survive the shooting at the end of the season when the army would have shot at her with blank bullets someone had replaced the guns with or they would have a heart and not actually shoot her(deliberately miss and let her go).

Somehow she would end up with Benson. Beats me. The writer of the article could have been wrong and just assumed because of this scene.

I didn't know that it took George Jefferson 4 seasons to appear on "All In The Family".
Weezy and Lionel appeared since season 1 but George was only mentioned and he never went to Archie's house.

This is because Sherman Hemsley was doing a play and Norman Lear waited for him instead of recasting the character!
He waited 4 years!!! Then 2 ears later the Jeffersons got their own show.
