He doesn't really believe what he said because if that was true why didn't he stay in Africa and blow up as an artist there instead of migrating to the US,adopting a sound and look that was originated here in the states from black americans?

Them little african kids dancing are mimicking what they hear and see that's done by black americans that do it in the black ghetto's of the united states first.

He seems to be talking about a small segment of hip hop performers...surely Akon must know that the culture that produced James Brown and Michael Jackson has more to it than that...within hip hop there are many performers that dont perform in the stereotypical way he is describing...one can big up Africa without shitting on another

He’s talking about stage presence not the music and I don’t disagree. I’m biased but I put Jamaicans above Africans with stage presence because the dancehall clashes made it necessary. You couldn’t come with no weak shit at Sun Splash.
 
He's talking hella greasy. Has he heard of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater? I could go on an on. I follow many people from Africa who are performers via IG & Twitter. Most of them got their whole style from Black American culture. And I love it. I heard a Bob Marley album sung in Kiswahili in 1997. After speaking with the man playing the music. He told me there are a great many Black American classics and Jamaican classics sung in Kiswahili.

Black American and Jamaican musical compositions are historically rife with songs of love, endured injustice, fighting for freedom and rebellion. Among so many other topics so painful and drastic it gave birth to the rapture of those very streets. Presented in the form of fabulous melodic poetic and harmonious flows of thought delineating the current events. Nah man he's talking out his ass. Those indignities will not soon be forgot.
 
Black immigrants have always taken shots at black Americans. This shit didn’t start with ados, it’s always been them. With them it’s nationality over race and they always try to compete with ados.
They’ve been taught they were better but their history vs ours shows otherwise.

Whats funny to me is they don’t do with with the people treating them like bitches in their homelands. They never have this smoke for Asians, Arabs or Europeans!

But he is using the worst examples of Black American stage performers to make his point...its cool if he thinks Africans are the best but look at all the talented Black Americans he chose to skip over....its a really stupid statement from someone involved in music...I am hoping there is more to the statement than that...Akon coming across like a fool

A lot of these new rap dudes cant perform on stage but I wouldnt use them to represent the totality of Black American stage presence...its a separate issue...oh yeah, a lot of the new dancehall youths in Jamaica aint that good on stage either
