Thanks for the drop. But it doesnt state whether Marcus identified as Grenadan or even went there. The country didnt gain its independence until 1974, well after his death. If he viewed himself as Grenadan and not Black American curious why he didnt push his liberation efforts there instead of Harlem that is a noted ADOS community. Also, Malcolms dad was a member of the UNIA as well.

Well, let’s keep it real here. Malcolm X directly said he didn’t identify as an American at all. I doubt he identified as a Grenadian as well. He primarily identified as a Black Nationalist (this is debatable at the end), African, and Muslim. And I doubt he would have embraced ADOS or any kind of African or West Indian national identities since all are products of European colonialism and subjugation.
All of this is neither here nor there. The ADOS position is clear on Black immigrants. Less than one percent of the Black American population was of immigrant descent in 1965. The overwhelming majority came after 1980, with an even greater influx after 2000. Are they affected by American racism? Yes. But they’re not descendants of nor affected by American chattel slavery nor its institutional legacies of Jim Crow segregation, redlining, mass incarceration, economic ostracization, and the like. They have a different lineage. Many come from the elite in their home countries. They are NOT ADOS! As a consequence, they are in no position to speak or act against ADOS. They should either be allies or say nothing at all. Unfortunately, many have taken the opposite position.
This would not be allowed amongst any other group of people.
Malcolm's dad was ADOS and he only was a citizen in one country America. He even went to Africa and asked African leaders to help his people, the Blacks in America, and they told him they had their own problems to deal with and didnt want to alienate whites in the West.
Malcolm wouldntve dissed ADOS because ADOS made up the bulk of the NOI and his organization that came later. Malcolm was also mentored under Elijah who shared the same rural GA roots as his father.
This is not an either/or scenario.
Malcolm clearly respected his Grenadian roots, so we should also respect them.
Thats why i say he was half ADOS half Grenadan. And if anything theres more an effort to erase his dad and ONLY promote his moms heritage than vice versa.
