Excellent post!!!! This was the Easiest install of an Adobe product I've installed in years. All programs work flawlessly.I adjusted my firewall and it caught each time it attempted to access the internet (about 12 times) used multiple programs daily on multiple computers. Good Looking Out!!!!

read the included .txt.
and if you have trouble with the hosts crack just do the following.
goto c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file
and make sure there is a line like this one :
127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
If not add it manually.
in Vista or Windows 7 you will need to right Click on Notepad and Run As Administrator then browse to the Host file and open it then add the line above, save the file. after which you can launch cs5.
if you get an error sometimes you will have to check the properties of the hosts file and make sure that 'read only' is not checked. but make sure to check the box again once you finish your changes.
i am now manually editing hosts files for the people that i install this on. that way i know for sure they won't be calling me talking about it does not work.

Then when I restart PS it tells me invalid serial number.

i am too
uninstall everything completely
reinstall ps
disconnect from the internet
patch it
after patch is confirmed you can close or you can install the rest
i closed mine
then restarted it
then chose the rest of everything else i wanted to install. when you go to install the password you used to patch the ps will already be in there so you just have to continue and install everything
done with that close everything then open it, should work.
reconnect to the net shouldnt have any problems. thats how i did mine and i update and am live on cs5 as well no issues whatsoever
man, i dunno. i am still installing this on multiple systems with no problems.
