when i click patch hosts:--- its says: "unhandled exception has occurred in your application.if you click continue,the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.if you click quit,the application will close immediately.
access too the path c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host is denied

i had this issue a couple of times. i just clicked continue and it worked with no problems...

actually the updated system that i showed above is what gave me the 'error' it worked with no problems.

i had that happen to me.
i just clicked generate instead and installed and then put in the serial it provided and my whole suite works perfectly.
i was also disconnected form the internet when i installed
now works perfectly with internet running..have the contribute toolbar
got the update and everything
i'm on windows 7-64

uninstall all of it.
then do the install again
the install as trial and all of that stuff too
then when its time to patch don't click patch click the generate and enter that serial into where you need to enter it.
after that close everything then connect to the internet and it should work fine.
when you install it disconnect from the net. that's the key. i installed illustrator 1st and did it disconnected from the net.
clicked patch and got that error. clicked generate and then filled it in and it worked. connected and it worked fine.
then i installed the whole rest of the suite
and when i went to install the rest it recognized illustrator was installed and it had the serial in place already so all i had to do was install and none of the patching and generating, i was also connected to the net when i installed the rest. worked like a charm
the update works and i have the cs5 live working in every program.

that's about as clear as i can lay it out. and i used the last keygen that was posted the single hotfile one

disconnect from the internet.

now the whole thing is you need to uninstall everything every hint of any adobe that you have going on. restart the computer
when you get back on the computer then you go through all the steps, disconnected from the internet. after that then go ahead and open it without the net running. let it set everything up. then after that connect to the net. shouldn't have any problems.
i used the last hotfile link to make it work. the one that says patch and generate. i didn't patch. just generate and it should work.

just hit continue, regardless of the error. i just installed this on one of my laptops (win 7) using this method 2 days ago with no issues.

and on a clients computer last night doing the same thing.

nah i'm using win7-64
yea it wants to go into the 32 bit folder and i don't have one which is why i said ignore the patch the patch did not work for me it only gave me that error and that's it...don't even patch it. just disconnect from the internet and then use the generate option in order to make it work.

what do you mean by disconnect the internet

i have the program installed and running using the keygen

its just that when i use it, it stops and asks me for a new serial number which is a pain

disconnect meaning disconnect turn off your wifi or your dsl or your modem or whatever you're using.
if you do it with the net on it'll kill the codes when you start to use it or open the program. if you register it totally offline it works. thats why i said disconnecting from the internet is key

goto c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file

and make sure there is a line like this one :
127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
If not add it manually.

in Vista or Windows 7 you will need to right Click on Notepad and Run As Administrator then browse to the Host file and open it then add the line above, save the file. after which you can launch cs5.

if you get an error sometimes you will have to check the properties of the hosts file and make sure that 'read only' is not checked. but make sure to check the box again once you finish your changes.

i am now manually editing hosts files for the people that i install this on. that way i know for sure they won't be calling me talking about it does not work.
