it's called pro choice because it's about a person's choice to do what they want with their body. Pregnancy is a medical condition. If a woman get pregnant, she should have the right to decide whether or not to keep her body in that condition. I think it's pretty much the only medical condition that as a country we (or some of us) want to give the government control over instead of the adult or emancipated individual. The fetus is inside the woman, but that doesn't give the fetus rights over the woman's body and that doesn't give the government rights over the woman's body.
I can absolutely see how people can disagree with me on this, and although I am pro choice, I think it's an awful choice to have to make, and I'm glad I've never had to be part of making it. ....but it's as simple as that for me. A person's body, a medical condition, their choice.
And if a person choose to go through and have a child that still is a *choice*
So why isn't it pro life v s pro death
Because choice means you can choose to do either. The anti choice side wants there to be no choice..get pregnant, have the kid. So why isn't it pro forced birth vs pro death? I think a woman has the right to do with her body what she pleases even if it means aborting.
I'm cool with whatever you want to call it. If you want pro death, cool with me. ...but it's choice because one side gives women the choice and the other side wants to take away that choice. Do pro choice people want to make carrying a child to term a crime? Nope. Do pro life people want to make it a crime to abort? Yup.
