Now its less on party now? How the fuck can you say that if most of the african american community vote just on party alone? Are you telling me that YOU will vote a republican for anything because you think he is a good person?
QueEx said:Has it ever occurred to you that one of the reasons we tend to vote for democratic candidates is because the individual candidates (or at least the ones the voter is most interested in) more closely shares the voters' POV, as he/she sees it? Sure, we do a lot of straight ticket voting, but isn't that caused, in part, by support for another candidate?
BTW, I'm not arguing in support of the democratic party, or for any party, as a matter of fact. What I'm trying to get at, however, is WHY we do some things, how we might do things differently/better; and to take a look at the some of the myths: one of them being, that we support the democratic party "BLINDLY". I don't think its as simple as blindly.
There is no question that we tend to vote solidly democratic. Is that due, however, to mere blind loyalty or some other causes that need to be explored?

GET YOU HOT said:See you "white guys" cant live without the double standard, its okay for white commentators men and women alike, christian, jewish or not to advocate mass culling of Blacks babies in Amerikkka, but once a Black commentator does it there is a virtual call to arms.
Since when are you guys not worried about your own white trash youth exploiting itself with drugs, alcohol, guns and music videos? Take care of your own dirt, then come holla...

With Imus firing, it at least set a precedent for hopefully anyone saying something as horrible on the airwaves, become instantly removed.

......It would be hypocritical to march yet another high-profile white person into exile in the desert as punishment for his sins of expressing racial beliefs so central to those of his fellow Americans. This cleansing ritual serves to make the republic feel good about itself while allowing the racial sins of dominant society to press on unacknowledged and unabated. In the past the sacrificial goats have been such violators as Al Campanis of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Marge Schott of the Cincinnati Reds, Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder, Andy Rooney and other personalities singled out to take the arrow for their group.
This is not to say that Bennett and the others stand innocent. But rather, why all the fuss? These finally are words only, uttered in what is supposed to be this very citadel of free speech.
Racism in America must be dealt with in some way other than this periodic, ritualistic scapegoatism of one invidious individual - who so clearly shares the racial value system of his fellow countrymen.
