A month in Asia. What I learned.

I recently spent a month in Asia. I only visited one country.

What I learned is this:

Asians are far more socially evolved than Europeans, and, it goes without saying, Americans (Latin and Northern up to Canada).

Fucking with China economically is a suicide mission. There are more Chinese than any other single ethnicity on the planet, and the other Asian nations are far from a joke economically, socially, and technologically. Asian citizens support other Asians like Europeans support other Europeans economically. There are a LOT of Chinese that visit the nation I visited, and they spend a SHITLOAD of money there. So does much of Europe.

Their (Asians, not just one nation, I mean the region in general) elite are actually well educated, and they (China in particular) make electric vehicles that, compared with the offerings here in the U.S., is like comparing a Benz with a Pinto. This is not hyperbole. They charge in less than 10 minutes...well, there are other threads about that here. Believe that shit. It is very REAL.

The aggression that has made itself a part of me since Detroit and the USA in general ripped my soul and body until they bled into one another... was oddly, and extraordinarily pleasantly missing.

Most of the countries I have visited are overwhelmingly Christian, and usually Catholic (Christianity on steroids). They are all oppressive and violent, at various levels. Most are incredibly safe by U.S. standards. Buddhists, it seems, are strangely non-confrontational. I still have not gotten used to this bullshit here in the West since my return.

I rented a condo for a week in a beach town. 8th floor, balcony, 1 br, washer dry in unit, kitchen with utensils and dinner ware, fully furnished with excellent AC. With taxes and cleaning fee, cost me $160 usd. I had a view of the ocean, and after being there a few days, realized I paid too much.

WTF is the point of this long winded soliloquy?

1) If you are Black, I strongly suggest you get a passport if you do not have one.

2) If you have one, I suggest you find a way to use it.

"Passport bros" bullshit aside, it felt really good to be in an environment where white people are NOT running things. Asians have their own issues with oppression and racism, as does ever ethnicity on the planet. However, I NEVER felt discriminated against by the native population (other than due to the fact I was a foreigner). The only consistently racist assholes were white folks, the vast majority from Eastern Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. EVERYBODY else was generally cool.

I can definitely appreciate this post but how about a bit of perspective by telling us where you went!

Oh... my bad. I went to Thailand. I spent a few weeks in Bangkok, and about a week or so in Pattaya.

Another thing I learned:

When you are 50, you are considered done here in the west. Old. Ancient. Jurrasic.

This is largely a WHITE thing.

It ain't like this everywhere. I saw a LOT of older men with women half their age.

Some (most of the white dudes) were sugar daddy-fuck toy relationships.

I also saw a LOT of foreign men with their Thai wifes, generally about half the age of the husband, with there families in tow. Age differences are not a big thing there, apparently. Some of this, of course, is attributable to economics, but CULTURE plays a part as well. Asian cultures RESPECT older people.

One more thing: before my excursion, I used to say I was not generally attracted to Asian women.

I saw some of the finest women in my life in Thailand. Thai women are so fine it borders on the absurd. Unreal.

And most don't have the funky attitudes that abound here among women in the states.

Just sayin'.

But I say a lot of people, some of them Black, who were married and had families with wives
literally half their age.

One of my homies visited Chiang Mai in Thailand and pretty much mirrored everything you said. He came home for a few months and packed his shit and left to go back. He don't even come home to visit anymore.

I only unpacked enough for day to day living. Most of what I own is literally in two suitcases and a shoulder bag on the floor as I type this.

I am trying to get back ASAP. I want to find a way to stay. Chiang Mai is on my list. I had to make an unfortunate pit stop in the U.S., and have been wanting to leave ever since I set foot on the plane.

He told me there's a relatively big Black Expat population, particularly in Chiang Mai. I keep saying I'm gonna go visit but I haven't yet. I think part of me knows I'm about to be on Richie from Harlem Nights time when I do

I met Black Americans, a Black man from the UK, and a chick from Canada, all living in Thailand, and apparently loving it. I didn't see too many black folks (other than West Africans) in Bangkok, but saw more in Pattaya. I have heard there is a sizeable Black ex-pat community in Chiang Mai. I want to go and verify for myself asap.

It is an expensive flight, but WELL worth it, in my opinion.

Oh, and if you smoke weed, there is a dispensary nearly every block or two in the areas I visited.

Did you go down that street in Pattaya where the hoes be tryna drag you into their club? I saw a Tiktok video. Them chicks was damn near tackling men in the street
No, but I did go into several other streets just like that in Bangkok.

If you saw the original Blade Runner movie, the set design was clearly based on Bangkok. Big, greasy, never sleeps, everything and anything for sale, with hardly a hint of the threat of physical violence.

I was literally physically assaulted by African hookers in the Soi Cowboy area.,, They LITERALLY grabbed me as I walk by, more than once. Look it up.

Those clubs are not my cup of tea. Once in, you are pressured to buy drinks for the bar girls, usually at a higher price than for patrons, to get them to sit and talk to you.

The blowjob bars are what really blew me away though, no pun intended.

Good shit. I was talking to my ex little while ago about leaving this place and serious about it. Right now, I could get $420k If not more than that for my house, and I owe $240k. If I don't have to buy another house in America, that's good money.

Seriously thinking about leaving this joint. I retire in 4 years 11 months and 2 days, so I better start preparing

That is good money in a lot of places. You could buy a house with a rental unit in Costa Rica, or a condo in Panama, or just rent with that kind of cash. It is very expensive to live here compared to a large part of the rest of the world.

Dem bitches will gang up on you to drag you in the bar. I had a chick jump on me out the blue. I wasn't expecting it and we fell forward. I look down and her eyes were rolling in the back of her head. She probably had a concussion lol. She stood up like a baby deer lol. The owners were real apologetic. I probably could've gotten a free girl for the night

Did you get a "soapy massage " while you were there??

Great write up, you really described the essence of Thai people. First time I went to Thailand it was out of pure curiosity, very little research, wandering for 3 weeks and fell in love with the country and people. Been back every year except the Covid years. A man can really relax over there and be reminded how women used to be, highly recommend.

I be wanting to go to Thailand but I hear rumors that there's a bunch of ladyboys.. And some went and got surgery done to make them have vaginas too.. which is kinda scary to me.
Dawg you'd have to mad drunk to get caught out, thai chicks are petite check the shoulders and compare with the men, if she's too tall an unnaturally beautiful with perfect makeup chances are it's a ladyboy

After reading the reponses about Thailand, I might have to make visiting thailand on my bucket list of things to do.
It was on mine. I no longer have nearly as much interest in Europe as I once did.

It is difficult to get back into the flow here, knowing how much we are being ripped off to live in reasonable (just bearable) comfort, with unaffordable health care, all the while knowing you might be the victim of some nut on a random shoot spree some day just because you wanted a bag of chips from the corner store.

This is absolutely true.

I had several nearly naked, beautiful women, ranging in age I would assume to be from 18-27, pull on me trying to get me into a club. One was so gorgeous I did not even fight. She led me by the hand into the bar without resistance, all by herself. She was so beautiful I had trouble forming a response to her insistence I enter the place.

I did not stay long after I figured what was what though. As I said, not my cup of tea.

They stick out, no pun. Ask them directly “Are you lady?” or for ID if your Spidey senses go off. Their national ID card displays their birth sex.

Or don’t go for the women, enjoy Thailand, it’s dope regardless.
