I recently spent a month in Asia. I only visited one country.
What I learned is this:
Asians are far more socially evolved than Europeans, and, it goes without saying, Americans (Latin and Northern up to Canada).
Fucking with China economically is a suicide mission. There are more Chinese than any other single ethnicity on the planet, and the other Asian nations are far from a joke economically, socially, and technologically. Asian citizens support other Asians like Europeans support other Europeans economically. There are a LOT of Chinese that visit the nation I visited, and they spend a SHITLOAD of money there. So does much of Europe.
Their (Asians, not just one nation, I mean the region in general) elite are actually well educated, and they (China in particular) make electric vehicles that, compared with the offerings here in the U.S., is like comparing a Benz with a Pinto. This is not hyperbole. They charge in less than 10 minutes...well, there are other threads about that here. Believe that shit. It is very REAL.
The aggression that has made itself a part of me since Detroit and the USA in general ripped my soul and body until they bled into one another... was oddly, and extraordinarily pleasantly missing.
Most of the countries I have visited are overwhelmingly Christian, and usually Catholic (Christianity on steroids). They are all oppressive and violent, at various levels. Most are incredibly safe by U.S. standards. Buddhists, it seems, are strangely non-confrontational. I still have not gotten used to this bullshit here in the West since my return.
I rented a condo for a week in a beach town. 8th floor, balcony, 1 br, washer dry in unit, kitchen with utensils and dinner ware, fully furnished with excellent AC. With taxes and cleaning fee, cost me $160 usd. I had a view of the ocean, and after being there a few days, realized I paid too much.
WTF is the point of this long winded soliloquy?
1) If you are Black, I strongly suggest you get a passport if you do not have one.
2) If you have one, I suggest you find a way to use it.
"Passport bros" bullshit aside, it felt really good to be in an environment where white people are NOT running things. Asians have their own issues with oppression and racism, as does ever ethnicity on the planet. However, I NEVER felt discriminated against by the native population (other than due to the fact I was a foreigner). The only consistently racist assholes were white folks, the vast majority from Eastern Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. EVERYBODY else was generally cool.
