I'm glad they didn't make it, even tjough I am a fan. If they had, they couldn't get rid of Van Gundy. Now they can. The league is changing, and you cna no longer have these slow footed centers. Yao is a victim of the times, but he is also a little weak on the block. This guy was letting Boozer man handle him. He doesn't have any hops, and he takes too many soft jumpers for a guy this tall. That guy needs to be on the low block or do a lot of pick and rolls to give him easy shots. He is still the best center in the league. He is probably the only true one left outside of Shaq becaus basically all the centers are just power forwards masking as centers. It is a different league and if you aren't athletic then you are pretty much doomed because these guys are too quick. If Yao played a generation ago he would be more revered because he would have centers who would have played him straight up.

i don't think GS can beat utah. here's why in two words: jerry sloan.
dude is an AWESOME coach; his teams ALWAYS come prepared to play a hard, tough DISCIPLINED game, and as long as they keep their composure, they're gonna do just fine.
personally, i think GS will win as well, but it'll depend on utah. if they try and run with GS, they'll get run. if they play good, hard, tough, typical utah ball, harpring (who's very tough) and boozer will post GS down low and bang them up real hard.
you can expect at least 2 fights for this series... from the hard fouls coming from utah.

This is the problem with foreign players. They develop pet moves. When those pet moves are stopped they can't create their own shot. (see Nowitski, Dirk) Dirk was just surrounded by athletes that made up for his short-comings.
Houston tried working with Yao by having him work with Ewing (and occasionally Hakeem) but his game is not going to change.You have two really good role players and no franchse player that would take the game over in th clutch.
