49ers

we can agree nate clements was a disaster.... I hope your're right about cully and brock...

We'll see but we're way better at signing gems and developing than getting free agents the other way.. i mean the last one we got was sanders... and he was an all time can't miss great player...

with no injuries and no issues.

Revis MIGHT have been as close to that as they come but we wouldn't be able to sign revis to a 1 year deal like we signed sanders either...

Back in the day during the "Alex Smith" years, we had to overpay, to attract free agents
Nate Clements was good the first year we signed him, then after that it was all downhill
Similar to Carlos Rogers

I have more faith in Brock, than I do in Cully
Brock has come a long way
I think he's going to be an upgrade over Terrell Brown
Brock is always busting his ass, working hard, & he is a ballhawk

Now Cully has all the PHYSICAL attributes to be a top corner but....
He's a KNUCKLEHEAD !!!
I think Cully will play well & lock down his man for like 3.5 quarters but then...
Have one of his mental breakdowns & give up a huge play
Dude still seems to be kinda immature & not mentally focused all the time, to be a starter

Jimmy Ward and Perrish Cox should play the nickel position better than, slow ass Carlos Rogers
Overall I think our corners & safeties should be okay
Not great like Seattle, but solid
Our pass rush will cover up their flaws

The main thing I'm still concerned with is.....
1. How long will Aldon Smith be suspended
2. The drop off in talent at Bowman's position
(last year Bowman was playing, probably better than Patrick Willis)
3. The big question mark at Nose Tackle
(and the ability to stop the run)
4. The big question mark at Boone's spot at Right Guard
*** I don't think Boone is coming back. Because Boone is actually a Tackle play the Guard position. He wants tackle money & he wont get it here with Joe Staley & Anthony Davis already locked up long term. The 49ers already drafted a couple guards, so they probably are not going to pay or extend Boone long term.... unless Looney or Martin look really bad

Quotes from training camp a few days ago.....

Vic Fangio said Tramaine Brock won't play Sunday as he rehabs an ankle injury. The hope is that he comes back next week.

#49ers DC Fangio said NT @IWilliams95 has been cleared to practice. Team will see how he does in individual drills this afternoon.

Looks like Justin Smith going to practice today for first time of #49ers camp. Also back from injury Ray McDonald,

Justin Smith, Ray McDonald and Ian Williams received a lot of action in team drills. First practice for all three this camp.

Running back @LaMichaelJames and tight end @VMcDonald89 are both in blue non-contact jerseys. #49ersCamp

LaMichael James returned to practice while wearing the blue “no-contact” jersey. He caught a few passes and took handoffs in team drills.

Running back Marcus Lattimore continues to look strong while rehabbing on his own. There is still no word when he will be taken off the NFI list, however.

Brandon Lloyd returned to practice and caught a couple of passes in 11-on-11 work

Patton has routinely been one of the team’s most targeted options in practice. Even with the additions of Johnson, Lloyd and Ellington, he’s been able to standout among the others in the deep group.

#49ers Jim Harbaugh said he anticipates QB @BlaineGabbert being first signal-caller to come off of the bench on Sunday vs. Broncos. :smh:
Harbaugh expects Blaine Gabbert to be the backup QB. :smh:

It appears WR Michael Crabtree (hamstring) will be a full practice participant for first time since he was injured in late July.

The #49ers' entire WR corps, including Michael Crabtre, is on hand for practice. This is rare. G Adam Snyder on hand as well.

Backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert had a rough beginning to practice, as he completed just two of his first seven attempts. Three of his incomplete passes sailed high over his intended targets. His final incomplete pass during that sequence prompted some loud groans from some in the stands. :smh:

"The only #49ers not in uniform for warmups are LaMichael James, Anthony Davis, Glenn Dorsey, Ian Williams and Justin Smith."

2. The drop off in talent at Bowman's position

Great post. This line right here is a bit misleading though. For the past 3 season Wilis has been playing the Ted position. Taking on lineman, fullbacks and tight ends. He's been doing a lot of the dirty work that has allowed Bowman to run free and make plays.

I've said this before. You'll most likely see Bowman's replacement play the Ted and do the dirty work which will allow Willis to run around and make plays.

So the real question is, how well the replacement takes on those duties?

good not bad

we missed a shot at a td

they missed a shot at a td

defense looks pretty good out there missing 4 starters against the bronco's 1's

im impressed.

clean up a couple of things and could have had 3 and out...

now let's see what the offense does.

You know Brandon Lloyd was held on that near TD
Broncos player grabbed his arm & his shirt
:hmm::hmm::hmm:

And what 49er LB blew that coverage
Had Thomas running across the middle wide open
Was that Borland that blew his assignment
:hmm::hmm::hmm:

it looked like it was borland

whole defensive side was off on that play.

yea he did grab him as he fell but that's whatever

hell has froze over

look at vance curt?

If Vance can catch like that consistently there might be some hope for him yet.

Like how Kaep is showing patience in the pocket too.

Hopefully Antoine Bethea is okay

:confused::confused::confused:

Edit: After seeing Dahl give up that TD..... I really hope Bethea is okay

:smh::smh::smh:

all in all good work

offense looked good with half of the o line missing

kap looked sharp

defense was ok with key pieces out

secondary looked good, they picked on whihote and borland across the middle the outside was locked so that's good.

clean a couple things up, hope that bathea is ok cause dahl is horrible and we're all good fellas.

now let's look at these 2's and 3's and see if they worth shit

our line has kept the qb's clean so far today...

you didn't even know demarcus ware was on the field.

and now they're keeping it clean for gabbert

he just can't throw the ball it looks like

it looks like he knows what he's doing

he just can't do it

Corey is out there. He had pressure on the Tank play.

I think they are bringing them along slow and also not showing their hand. It's preseason. You don't really show anything. Everything is vanilla and you don't show off the main pieces.
