49ers

Dude on tv said we had a horrible preseason with limited starters playing and ending up 2-2 with a win and a blowout lol.

I remember after the Ravens game the talk was, "The 49ers defense has declined. They can't stop the run anymore." No mention of the fact that Ahmad Brooks was the only starter on the field and he played a handful of downs.

These so-called analysts just love to talk shit. Making sense is not an option. Next they'll say Anquan Boldin only had 3 catches this preseason. He should be cut.

Not undeerstanding Kasim Osgood getting cut. And watch we keep Brandon Lloyd bum azz

We have a lot of RB's and Winston was signed late. I pray he clears waivers so he can be added for the practice squad.

Spillman is a shocker. Thought he'd stay over Dahl. He at least has special teams value.

Osgood was on the bubble. We have so many WR's now it's a numbers game. Hopefully Patton of whoever they as to play on the coverage unit can step up.

Winston is the only one I'm kind of not OK with.

Osgood, numbers game but we have so much damn talent on coverage now it's insane we'll be fine there.

Spillman it was about time he left, we got better younger gunners on the team now and he is absolute TRASH as a safety, ward is already a better backup safety at this point than Spillman and he's been in the league and on this team entirely too long to look that bad. let's just be honest. Him and hampton have been on this team for way too long to just not make any improvements while everyone else is showing signs and making strides...

Spillman isn't even a backup safety in this league at this point, so i don't know how you justify him being on the team when we can groom one of these young db's that we have

The reason I say he's a shocker is because he was cut and Dahl wasn't (I co-sign everything you said about him as a safety). There are still moves to be made. Dahl may be on the chopping block as we speak.

Dahl restructured his contract, he's less than $1million dollar hit on the cap. Spillman is $1.22 million on the cap.

Dahl is actually OK he fucks up but he's actually OK.. spillman was downright TRASH he can't cover doesn't make reads and can't tackle anybody.. When he got trucked in the last game or the charger game i forget.. but he came up to make the tackle as a safety in the 4th quarter..against dudes that weren't going to make the team they were on.. and he got fucking TRUCKED..ran over..? he didn't deserve a roster spot.

Thats the thing though, u go from a pro Bowler to hopefully. :smh:

And if we keep Brandon Lloyd, i guarantee he drops at least one crucial pass in a tight situation.

According to Matt Maiocco...
"The 49ers’ decision to cut safety C.J. Spillman saves the team $1.225 million on the salary cap."

Sooo clearly some of these cuts are just to save money, not b/c the other man is better.
Sooo no Spilman, no Osgood, & Constanzo was put on IR.
Bubba Ventrone can't do it all.
I guess the coaches don't give a shit about our special teams play again huh.
They still haven't learned their lesson.

Remember when they broke up the Tony Montana squad in 2011, & didn't want to pay Constanzo?
The next year our special teams coverage was total shit!
And what happened in the Superbowl?
Ravens Jacoby Jones runs back a kickoff for a Touchdown !!!

:smh::smh::smh:

And another thing...
Cutting RB Glen Winston was a bad move!

Why is LMJ still on this roster?
1. Glen Winston is a better RB than James
2. Ellington is a better returner than James
3. Plus James has fumble problems with those two dislocated elbows
4. Plus James doesn't really fit our system & is not in our future plans & would probably get cut next season anyway

Winston has the same build as Carlos Hyde
He has vision, enough power to run up the middle, enough speed to bounce to the outside, he even pass protects good from what I saw in the preseason
He's like a raw version of Carlos Hyde
The kid has serious potential

If Glen Winston doesn't make it to the practice squad, this could blow up in the coaches face big time !!!

:smh::smh::smh:

Nah this special teams team is going to be excellent this year man.

and we all saw that big gaping holding call that they missed on that return.

GTFOH Man !!!
I'll make sure to quote this again, every other game, when we give up huge returns
You're talking about just 1 play
I'm talking about the whole 2012 season ALSO
We took a big step back on special teams between the 2011 season & 2012 season
Looks like the coaching staff might be making the same mistake again

:cmonson::cmonson::cmonson:

Oh well Spillman, you tried your best son
R.I.P CJ Spillman
His career got murdered on this one play

:lol::lol::lol:

Nope, the stars of the special team this preseason weren't spillman or osgood. osgood made a play to get the blocked punt but other than that pretty much mute.

im talking about 1 play, the same play you used as an example lol.

spillman was on that 2012 special teams team if i remember correctly right?

BrokenCleanBlackfly.gif

that's exactly the play i was talking about.

you cannot be a safety or considered to be a backup safety in this league and have that happen to you.

someone can break your tackle but you cannot get discarded like he did.

Heard they released Adam Snyder, they must be feeling confident about Boone.

quiet as kept looney has played his ass off and is much better at pulling than boone is. having guards who can pull in multiple directions..

i still want boone but with davis back we MIGHT not be in such a bad shape as we think

looney wasn't getting his ass whipped against the chargers, iupati was :lol:

selfish and might have fucked around and lost his job. look how much the line looks elite once davis comes back..

Morris must not have improved.. that's too bad

and Okoye has 1 more year on the practice squad to make the team.. we've got way too much depth on this team now. next year he'll be cut.

Read the Ray McDonald line on Matt Maiocco's twitter feed a while ago. Waiting to learn more.

All we know is that it was his birthday party

and whatever happened happened.

He should be cut simply because he's too dumb to walk away from whatever was going on right after goodell laid down the extreme ban shit for this exact same thing. he isn't that good and he's clearly that dumb. time for tank to take over and run this shit.

it SEEMS like everyone is getting in trouble but they're not.

Crab shit was false

Kap shit was false

Aldon

and now ray.

I don't feel too good about this upcoming football season
Can we just roll back our clocks & reboot this mofo

:smh::smh::smh:

:smh::smh::smh:

I feel fine. Target is clearly on us in the media.

The players will come together and show and prove.

2 players, aldon and now ray macdonald have off the field issues. 2... that's not an entire organization worth of turmoil.

crab was false
kap was false

2 players, they have no choice but to come together and get it done.

Macdonald should be cut just for stupidity of timing alone.

the headlines will be dominant against us as an organization though it's only 2 players.

but the team will be closer than ever at this point

Alex Boone news....

What did #49ers for Alex Boone? Rolled his incentives into base salary. Boone can make $6M over 2 years. Would've made $5.75M if he started

So basically they turned his incentive money into guaranteed base salary, & waived his fines/penalties
Still only 2 years left on his contract & a clause that we can't put a franchise tag on him

:cool::cool::cool:

We have a lot of RB's and Winston was signed late. I pray he clears waivers so he can be added for the practice squad.

...

The Cleveland Browns have signed former #49ers RB Glenn Winston.
https://twitter.com/Eric_Branch
:smh::smh::smh:

We do NOT have a lot of RB's.... especially after this year.

1. Both Gore and Hunter are free agents after this year.

2. Gore will not be re-signed. He will probably retire after this year.

3. Hunter will be coming off another major injury.
I doubt the coaches will want to re-sign him when they can draft a healthy rookie.

4. Lattimore is still up in the air. They just put him on the PUP list so we still don't know how his knee will hold up long term.

5. LMJ has two years left on his deal
I think he gets like 1.5 million, if we keep him next season
Like I said before, Ellington is a much more explosive punt and kick returner than LMJ
Plus LMJ has fumble issues b/c of his dislocated elbows (plural)
We could have made Ellington the primary & Parrish Cox the secondary returner
LMJ doesn't really fit our system. The coaches (Roman) don't use him correctly
He is an average runner up the middle
We don't use him in space, we rarely do screens plays, etc
Also don't forget he was constantly talking shit on twitter
He's really not happy being here so I doubt that he will want to resign

6. From what I've seen...
Winston had a good combo of patience, burst, vision, decision making
He runs low and is a one cut runner, similar to Carlos Hyde
Same size & everything
He looked to be the perfect RB for our power running game
He just didn't look like your average rookie

:smh::smh::smh::(:(:(:smh::smh::smh:

only thing i can say is that they thought he would clear and he would be the new hampton. but he didn't he was just too good but that's what happens.

macdonald was released and he said the truth will come out and it was a crazy situation.

so let's see what happened.
