I think you're right homie.. Defenses aren't afraid to man up and leave 1 safety back.. No worries about Gabbers hitting the deep throw.

The fact that he's getting it....its clear that's how teams want to face him until he starts to beat them. I don't think he's capable sadly.

Baalke doesn't really want Kap to play, because he might get injured again & then be guaranteed his full salary next year
Baalke doesn't want a repeat of what happened this past offseason
Sooooo, they restructure the current contract, take out the injury clause, but put in an opt out clause
Kap plays the rest of the season, for other teams to see him..... Baalke doesn't care if he gets hurt now..... Kap opts out & gets max money on the open market

Now all he needs to do is be the player I believe him to be and didn't lose faith on and my entire prediction is complete. From him being on the team still, to the reason he wasn't starting, to how much of a fit he is for this offense.
Hopefully they take it easy on him he hasn't played in a game since november of last year. Just run the simple stuff Sunday morning, nice easy reads like you gave gabbert let hyde do the heavy lifting. then after that open this bitch up as he gets comfortable doing it on the field.
I'll always remember gabbert snatching the ball from Hyde from 1 yard out to take it in for himself.

If by the end of the season he doesn't have it, I'll admit he might not have it. Won't say we need to give up on him because we've seen what happens when you don't give up on qb's (how many shitty years did matt ryan have in order for them to be good again?)

I thought Tiller was playing pretty good
But the only thing about Tiller is, he's more of a power guard, rather than a zone blocking guard
I've noticed on certain plays, like screens, Tiller is not fast enough to swing around & block his man
It makes the RB have to wait & hesitate for the hole to open up

I wasn't talking about the beginning of the season. I was basing that on the comments he made before last game saying, "he's not where we was 2 years ago". He was basing that on weight and health..
Yes, I know he isn't at 220lbs, (his ideal weight) and he he still may not be 100%. However, at 215lbs and 80% he can probably still do a better job than what Gabbert has been doing at 100%.
Like you guys have been saying, these first few games he will be rusty. Just like what we saw in preseason. There was some rust. 5 weeks in though he should be into a rhythm. That's when we can really assess him.
Yea again, we're so used to this organization throwing kap under the bus I actually see Chip as helping and rooting for kap.
From day 1 he said he wanted him there. During camp he said he's one of the 2 best qb's on the team when they asked if he was going to be cut.
When he didn't get picked to be the starter he said that Kap isn't fully healthy yet.
He then said recently he still isn't fully healthy yet but that's to curb the expectations and pressure that's going to be put on him saying he isn't a finished product yet so don't judge him.
Remember he basically has given him 6 extra weeks to get better and ready to go out there as close to 100% as possible and be the guy.
Kap at 60% wasn't good enough physically to do it for an entire season. wait 6 weeks and then kap at 80>>>>>>>>>>>>>gabbert at 100%

I do think Chip was playing the stall game a bit when he mentioned he "wasn't where he was". I just think he could have worded that better. I would have liked him to say, Kap isn't 100% yet. We're waiting for him to be fully healthy before even considering him. Just be straight up.

I think he did it on purpose. I might be giving him too much credit but I think all of it is to curb expectations so Kap can play freely unlike last year where every snap was potentially for his job to get cut
Let gabbert face the gauntlet then let kap save the day
the last coaching staff knew he was hurt trotted him out there and intentionally had him play against the rams so gabbert didn't have to face them.

I think we'll get measured 2014 kap to start.
the offense will be there for him to do what he needs to do main thing i think we'll see is the proper speed that the offense has been lacking all year because gabbert couldn't get them in and out and up to the line consistently
Just him being on the field will make a difference though. Now Hyde will have open running lanes he hasn't had all year long and that read option is going to benefit hyde completely because they overplay kap every time they get.
