Its not even ambiguous
48÷2(9+3)=288
48÷(2(9+3))= 2
48÷2(9+3) does not equal 48÷(2(9+3))

The only reason M is in front D is because D is just the inverse
A is in front of S because its the inverse
I will keep posting this til someone reads it
I understand both theories, and both are pretty solid how they are written PEMDAS and "Like a Fraction". But which one is right?
Dude I have already admitted my wrongness not too long after I made that post.
Plus you can't do Calculus of Variations better then me anyway
Shit just got real.Dance-fight. After school. Be there.
so are you saying that whenever your left with something like this
24(12) youre supposed to always multiply or divide?![]()
I you believe that then you have your reason, but the parenthesis do make a difference in this particular problem. Answer this is
48*2(9+3) the same as 48*(18+6)
go back to lurking2 right?

Brothers the answer is 2 I teach Adult Education math. This problem covers the order of operations in math. For Adults it is a bitch to work out if you don't know the order of operations. When you use the calculator and just punch the numbers in without knowing the order of operations you will come up with 288 which is incorrect.
Good ass post got folks in here thinking like a motherfucker. Remember when you were taking math and thinking what the hell do I need to know this for. LOL!!
oh shit they whiteboarding up in this bitch.
And it's the same as 48*2(12) and 96(12) and 96(9+3) and (96*9) + (96*3)
oh shit they whiteboarding up in this bitch.
man theyre never going to get their GED's fucking with you
damn they think theyre dumb as they continue to fail their exam
when its their teacher who is the idiot amongst them
awwww man this thread has me in tears!!!!!

2 right?
go back to lurking![]()
Only the same because its all multiplication
They are different problems though
You still need work out whats inside the parentheses first.
You always work left to right if they are the same rank.
The other problem had division in the front so you had to divide first then multiply.
I got a 92% pass rate on GED's it is the parenthesis Brother Alex they don't just disappear if you drop them after you get 12 you are wrong they still remain which leaves you with 2(12) they don"t disappear until you do that part of the problem.
Do the math for every single example I gave there. Type out each one and your answers. No they are not because you have to multiply 2(12) first which will not give you 96 Brother, you have 48*24 not 96*12. You have parenthesis, in the order of operations, parenthesis are worked first until they are eliminated from the problem.

2(9+3) = 2(12) the solution to the 9+3 does not eliminate the parenthesis in this problem it means that inside the parenthesis you have (12) which must then be multiplied by 2.
Do the math for every single example I gave there. Type out each one and your answers.
That's your homework for the weekend.
right at the 5 minute mark, he goes into addressing this specific type problem.
i have my daughter using this program. it has helped immensely.
