2017 NCAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT THREAD

I don't understand why coaches try to always play slow once they get a big lead, and seems to always allow a good team to comeback. Stay attacking the basket

I can understand them slowing it down a little bit but they weren't even running offense....oh well they still got it

Makes me sick to my stomach seeing both Tyler Dorsey from the Ducks and Trevon Bluiett from Xavier being UCLA commits then picking other schools both these boys balled out and would have help the squad over the years fuck man

Yeah I guess I meant watching teams just passing it around the perimeter and launch last second 3s see it too many times

If I didn't know the outcome I'd say whatever he was doing would be wrong

Yeah ... that was a hell of a shot. The way he was coming downcourt reminded me of Tyus Edney taking it full court for the lay-up during the mid-90s and UCLA's run in the tournament. He got it downcourt in about 4 - 5 seconds or so. Whereas fam' here floated in with that 3. Wild shit!

Yeah Chiozza shot will be that magic moment for a few years great shot.....I didnt have florida going this far in the tourney... The Real surpise is SOUTH carolina gamecocks them boys are ballin...... if they beat florida i think south carolina will win the CHIP!! The womens South carolina team is ballin too.

Lonzo can shoot though so how is he Rubio 2.o? Please don't tell me you letting this one game determine you thoughts of him

Ummmmmm, you're going too far

His form is awful and his motion is slow. That won't work in the NBA. He shoots too low. He's going to have to eventually change his shot. He's 6'6 in college playing against 6'2 and below PG's.

I'm not sure how his shot is going to translate to the NBA.

De'Aaron Fox of Kentucky is 6'4, Kobi Simmons of Arizona is 6'6 for example. There have been bigger guards that he's faced and he's going to have at least 3 inches on most of the NBA PGs that he'll face. He has never gotten his jumper blocked or even tipped in spite of his form. It's ugly and awkward but it goes in.

You're picking out two of how many PG's he's faced?

The average NBA PG is taller and more athletic than a college PG, and in the NBA they will switch a SG or even a forward like Kawhai on you. Going against Avery Bradley or Patrick Beverly is far different than going against Kobi Simmons. Hell, their other PG Parker Jackson Cartwright was like 5'9.

A lot of scouts have already said he's going to have to change his shot to be able to shoot in the NBA.

People are too quick to say a college player is going to be a star at the next level. How many point guards has that translated to in the past five years? Elrid Payton? D'Angelo? Dunn? Exum? Mudiay?

He had problems guarding Fox, try Harden or Russ.

First of all I never spoke on his defense. UCLA as a whole is not good defensively. At least in the league he should have some help in the form of a rim protector.

D'Angelo is not a PG and to me he's never been a PG. He's a ball dominant 2 guard in the vein of Tyreke Evans. He's definitely a better passer than Tyreke though with more range. Tyreke is more athletic. Exum and Mudiay didn't play any college ball and Elfrid Payton shot 27% from 3 in college at a smaller school. He didn't set college on fire and people even knew that his jumper wasn't good. Dunn played 3 years and his jumper was also questionable.

He may have to alter his shot but it's not a definite at this point because he hits it consistently and with excellent range and when guys have played up on him he's seemed able to create something positively for the most part. Granted ideally he'd go somewhere where they play up tempo, spread the floor and let him work such as the Lakers or even the Suns.

And UCLA started 3 guards no team had to play their PG on him on defense.

Huge shot by a role player. Kentucky fans are about this guy for the next few decades just like they hate Laettner

Congrats man. I texted my boy from Columbia today that I haven't spoken to in like 5 years. Told his ass, "although I don't fuck with ya'll during football season, I'm rooting for yall from here on out"
