2015 - 2016 NBA Thread - NBA where amazing happens - all rookie team named!!!

Notice how the Cavs getting Shump in their back-court seems to immediately solve all of their woe's ... Also for the Curry scoring 100 camp, notice how off his shot got vs the Cetlics once his legs got tired... Hint, the way you defend those shooters is by being physical and trying to wear them down, both mentally and physically... Something that most jump shooters suffer from, and is the primary reason why it is so difficult for them to even score 50 pts..

It didn't solve shit for them in the finals...

Listen shump, Kyrie and live ain't built to go a full season into June.. Niggas will get hurt again

Iman Shumpert wokrs out for his driving and ball handling drills at practice

*We know everybody put in work during the offseason, so I'm not trying to shit on others...
It's just nice to see the final two squad players put in that work and not be satisfied.

Shum is known as a defender and 3 point shooter, so it's nice to see him start to take it to the cup, same with JR.
Danny Green was the same way two years ago. The lands are there when your a knock down shooter, the defensive normal over pursue, take bad close out angle, or don't properly switch.

He isn't built to be the number one option driving into the paint, but if he takes more jumpers and takes what the defense gives him, trust me he is going to be ok... Remember when Wade made adjustments to his game, and just like that he stop getting injured? Well the same thing applies with Irving, only thing he actually has a better jump shot, and shooting jumpers plus a good back up is the best way to avoid injuries as a guard..

Now we get to use team resumes in arguments

Man look everybody knows I'm a Cowboys fan and you don't ever see me mentioning the 5 Super Bowls

It's old and irrelevant when talking about what's going on RIGHT NOW

And if that's the case the Cavs damn sho' can't say shit :smh::lol:

Now Shumpert body type is better suited for driving to the basket, and if he could learn how to put his athleticism into play, he may be able to do some of the things Irving used to do, while allowing Kyrie to be protected..

So now, Shump is the x-factor!?! He's won or proven exactly WHAT in his career? Maybe I don't know shit I guess, but Niggas are killing me with this shit!

I feel ya, that wasnt for you per se, just for these guys on here that give crap to GS because of non injuries; Listen I dont have a team I just like seeing good basketball and great players; so I can appreciate all of them; By the way you a knicks fan right, I think the kid is being overhyped..

To be honest wit you I'm impressed with what I seen cause my expectations was low from him. I thought he was a dud.
So I'll take it. But it ain't no Jeremy Lin overhype. He solid, he jus need to get his weight up in the paint

More like a cog that was missing.. I actually said before that the Cavs were better off with Cunningham than having Mo on the floor even though it may go against every stat you can imagine..
But if you know the sport you realize that guards are your first line of defense, and if your back-court lacks the proper foot speed then your team will be susceptible to constant dribble penetration by quicker teams and while the guard at fault individual stats may not suffer, the team overall defense will take a hit due to people collapsing and trying to overcompensate towards this weakness..
With players like Cunningham and Shump, the Cavs are much less vulnerable towards teams who are able to beat you off the dribble with their back-court players..
ONce this is established players like LeBron should be able to play more team defense/the passing lanes instead of always looking to help in the event of dribble penetration, this usually leads to more fast breaks and easy scores off of the defense, so yeah this is how Shump could actually help the Cavs out..

bruh... Curry would have more than a few games with 50+ points this season if he was not sitting out so many 4th quarters. He had 38 last night while playing a "bad" game... lmfao you stay trying to hate on the Warriors period.

What you do is have Kyrie emulate Curry's game, that is molding himself primarily as a jump shooter who occasionally attacks the basket as opposed to an driver who can shoot the jumper..
I've seen Kyrie shooting skills and there are few in the league who can consistently shoot from the outside as good as him and I think if he changes his mindset and approach to the game he can be as successful as anyone not named Curry from downtown.. Changing his style as well as cutting back his mins, plus missing a quarter of the season, should dramatically cut down on his body wear and tear, something he could not do being the teams first (only) and 2nd option all of his career..

Kyrie plays nothing like curry and his game is nothing like Currys, not happening; Kyrie game is going to be the same as its always been because thats the way he plays; and hes going to get hurt because he always gets hurt

Cavs are built to come out of the east; they will loose in the finals; 1 or more players will be hurt like they always are; JR smith sucks, good for 1 good game and 7 bad ones; People got hyped about smith because he was playing the Hawks :lol:; Love will get dominated by Green and Cavs still dont use Love right; People gonna be saying LBJ still dont have enough help...

I just think he the 2nd coming of Keith Van Horn and Rafe Lafrentsz; Maybe a little better but thats it, nothing special to me; I think people are excited because he can play, Ill give him that, but they could too; Plus nobody in NY thought he could play so now everybody like wow...

I am well aware of how many 50 point games Curry has and how he usually scores in bunches, but I also was one of the few to mention how can jump shooters tire and the first thing that goes is their touch.. Last night at the end of yhe game Isah and Curry jumpers was way off due to fatigue.. Ever wonder that perhaps he was able to score 50 points in three quarter , because ut was duch a blow away that Curry was able to expend all of his energy in three quarters knowing he would not play the 4th?

Shumpert can't be counted on, because dude is injury prone just like Kyrie. He'll be out again soon.

I have a very good eye for skill set, just check my past NBA post, and I tell you that the only thing from Kyrie elevating his jump shot game is in between his ears.. He says hes now commited to changing his game if so he his transition should be smooth.

Shumpert has freakis injuries, anyone who plays ball knows that wrist and shoulder injuries arent common and unless there are some structual damage, seldom do the reoccure.

Like I said earlier.

http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/201...ayoffs-how-stephen-curry-put-ankle-issues-him

You can adjust your game to get pass injury woes
Didn't players like Ron Harper and Wade adjust their games? That should have been all the clue they needed... Plus the best way to prevent being injured especially if your a smaller guard is to go stop being the number one option on a bad team that way you can defer most of your responsibility away while leaning on other players to do the dirty work.. In most of the cases, including Curry, they stopped getting injured as soon as they started playing with other players who was able to even distribute the work load... But being that shit like this doesn't show up on Basketball video games and stats it will fly over the heads of many..

Believe it or not, once you get a ACL injury having a dislocated shoulder and or a wrist injury may be a blessing in disguise, due to the fact that the less wear and tear of not playing due to those injuries can actually allow your original ACL injury to heal a lot better..

Kyrie started to transform his game last year.

Using Wade as an example was pin point.
That off season we heard this and that about how he got with the shooting coach, well it showed right away.
Less turnovers, better shots(because Wade would take some of the craziest shots known to man) better passes etc...

So it's not crazy to believe Kyrie's game will look different once he comes back.

Its funny folks don't think Kyrie can produce @ a high level.
Yes that fucker stay injured but don't act like he can't boogie.

Curry stead increasing his distance but I think the man different as shooters between the two is the speed of their releases.

That worked for Curry, doesn't mean it will work for Kyrie. Kyrie doesn't have an equal skill set in those areas that Steph does and he will more than likely be less effecrive, just like D rose is basically an average player since he started playing 'scared'...

Someone said you can't adjust your game to prevent frequent injuries while playing sports as if it can't be done. Not anyone in particular. Well there's my supporting evidence that it can be done.

Yea that's kinda what I got from that also

REPORT: Kyrie Irving Urging Cavs To Let Him Play

CWDs4xeWUAA5_41.png

On Friday night, Iman Shumpert made his long awaited season debut for the Cavs against the Orlando Magic. Before the game, David Blatt said that he didn’t know how long he would play Shumpert, but wanted to give him enough time to get a rhythm and be effective on the floor.

Shumpert did just that, playing 25 minutes and finishing with 14 points on 5-7 from the field to go along with three rebounds. J.R. Smith missed the game with an illness and Jared Cunningham got the start in his place. One has to think that Shumpert will be retaking the starting shooting guard spot sooner rather than later.

The final piece of the Cavs puzzle is about to be put into play.

Chris Haynes from Cleveland.com reported that Kyrie Irving can’t wait to get back on the court, and has been urging the Cavs to let him play in the Cavs upcoming road game against the Boston Celtics.

This week Irving has been desperately trying to persuade the organization to activate him, cleveland.com was told. The Cavaliers have been urging him to remain patient, as they want to be cautious with the three-time All-Star.

Irving is traveling and participating in full practices, waiting to be cleared. It’s only a matter of time and could be as soon as Tuesday in Boston. He sat at his locker stall after the trouncing on Friday just marveling at his teammates. This group could be special.

Irving has been recovering from knee surgery during last year’s NBA Finals, and has been practicing in full for over a week. Once he returns, Cleveland could be at full strength if Smith can make his return as well, and then the real test for the Cavs will begin.

“It’s great to have bodies,” LeBron James said. “Coach is going to have a great opportunity to do what he wants to do with the lineups. We’re just missing one more piece and once we get that, we can really start to see what we’re capable of doing.”

Iman Shumpert feels that same way too.

Felt good to be next to you brother now the countdown for my Hardy brother begins! @KyrieIrving up next!!!

The reason why Kyrie stay hurt is because he's a penetrating guard, that contact eventually takes a toll..

Same with Wade.. But notice how Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, Dell Curry's can play 15 seasons because their bread is from outside which makes for less contact less likely to get injured..

Just so happens steph is all them ninjas I named in one you will not see him get hurt
