Nuggets got cooked last night but we on. This our year.
http://nba.nbcsports.com/DENVER (AP) — Danilo Gallinari wants everyone to know this: His surgically repaired left knee, the one that took three procedures to fix and nearly two seasons to fully trust, no longer bothers him.
The Denver Nuggets forward doesn’t need to be on any sort of minutes restriction. He doesn’t need days off during the season. And he certainly doesn’t need to be coddled.
He’s Gallo again, the hard-to-guard Italian playmaker who can knock down the 3-pointer just as easily as drive to the hoop or even post up. He believes he will fit in quite nicely into new coach Michael Malone’s system.
“The thing I’m focused on is trying to get (this team) back to the same level that the Nuggets were when I got to Denver, when we were going to the playoffs easy. When we were clinching a playoff one or two weeks before the season was over,” said Gallinari, who was acquired in the 2011 blockbuster deal that sent Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks. “We need to get back to that level.”
Gallinari returned last season for the first time since blowing out his knee in a game on April 4, 2013. His minutes were closely monitored early in the season. He never really got completely on track until late last season, when he averaged 20.5 points over the final 10 contests, including a career-high 47 against Dallas. He’s hoping to carry that kind of confidence this season.
“I’m good to go. I was good to go as soon as the beginning of last year,” Gallinari said. “I was not on the same page with the coach that we had.”
Malone plans to employ a similar type approach, something they discussed over gelato when the coach visited Gallinari in Italy soon after he was hired.
“He’s 6-foot-10. He can handle the ball. He can play pick-and-roll. He can stretch the floor and shoot the 3,” Malone said. “There’s not a lot he can’t do offensively.”
Gallinari wants the responsibility of being the go-to player for the Nuggets this season, especially at crunch time.
“I’ve always been trying to do that, since I came to Denver,” Gallinari said. “That’s what I like to do. I feel good filling those shoes.
“I want to have the ball in my hands. I do want to have the ball in my hands a lot more.”
Matthews will probably be out until the new year probably. Parsons won't be ready for the season start. The start of the season is gonna be ugly for the Mavs.![]()
http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/dwyane-wade-‘lebron-knows-we’re-coming-for-him’/ar-BBmizibThe Miami Heat are looking to reclaim a spot at the top of the Eastern Conference, but Dwyane Wade knows that road leads through LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In an interview with ESPN, Wade said he hasn’t bothered telling James about Miami’s aspirations because the Cavaliers star already knows his former team’s mindset.
“Some things you don’t have to talk about. LeBron knows we’re coming for him. They’re at the top of the Eastern Conference, everybody is going for them.”
Cleveland is hoping to take the next step after representing the East in the NBA Finals but falling short against the Golden State Warriors for the title.
Miami, on the other hand, is looking to bounce back from an injury-riddled campaign that wasn’t helped by LeBron’s departure during the summer. When Wade and Chris Bosh missed time, the roster was without the Big Three that had guided the team for the previous four seasons.
But as Wade mentioned in the interview—at least for now—the Heat are at full strength, which isn’t a luxury Cleveland currently has. Kyrie Irving, Iman Shumpert, Kevin Love, Matthew Dellavedova and J.R. Smith are battling injuries, and Tristan Thompson still isn’t under contract.
The Cavaliers will host Miami on the opening weekend of the 2015-16 season, and Wade will have a chance to remind James that the Heat are ready to challenge him for the Eastern crown.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...to-start-bulls-season-opener-over-joakim-noahWith new man Fred Hoiberg taking over in Chicago, Noah's starting status looks in doubt, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. "While Hoiberg said he hasn’t decided who will start the Oct. 27 regular-season opener against the [Cleveland] Cavaliers, sources said the first-year coach is leaning strongly toward starting Nikola Mirotic," Johnson wrote.
Mirotic, who is entering just his second season in the league, averaged 10 minutes less per game than Noah, but he still managed to score more points per game and provided an option from long range, spreading out the Bulls offense a bit more.
Hoiberg comes from the college ranks with an offensive-minded approach. Mirotic, who has been aggressive throughout these exhibitions, was impressing his new coach, who spoke with Johnson.
"I loved it. He was firing it up. He had a really good rhythm," Hoiberg said. "You could see it in his shot. He had great balance. His legs were good. I was really happy with the way he played."
All signs are pointing to a very different Bulls team than the ones that prided themselves on defense under Thibodeau, especially with a starting lineup that could feature Mirotic next to Pau Gasol this season. There's a better chance that games could be shootouts rather than the defensive stalemates Chicago fans are used to.
