Patriots wide receiver Brandon LaFell said Wednesday that he signed with the Patriots because he wanted to play with a “Hall of Fame quarterback” and that Cam Newton, who threw passes to LaFell in Carolina, is not “there now.”
LaFell’s words were hard to argue with given where Tom Brady and Newton are in their respective careers, but they were not met kindly by Panthers fans all the same. On Twitter, LaFell heard from those who thought he was out of line as well as those who pointed out that things might have gone differently for LaFell, Newton and the Panthers if LaFell held onto more balls thrown his way.
“U right Cam didn’t make me drop balls nor did I say he did. So please continue on with your day thank you,” LaFell wrote.
LaFell then retweeted or replied to a few supportive comments, sent out a “Go Pats” and then announced that he’d be dropping off of Twitter for a month. We’re likely to survive until April, although we appreciate that LaFell offered an honest answer to the question about what led him to New England.

If we go defense I'd prefer Mack or Barr over Clowney to be honest. DL is a rotational position and can be filled with warm bodies as long as you have that big road grater in the middle, a strong LB core, and JJ Watt. So far we've got NOTHING from our LB's outside of Brian Cushing. We need help there more than anything on defense in my opinion, and these two are solid, day one contributors.
So to me the pick, if we stay at number 1, is Bridgewater or one of those outside linebackers

That's fucked up. Pryor still has a chance to compete and jobs are on the line. He has to put it together and show some consistency. I didn't want to Schaub but I understand them trying to put together a solid season. They could both be out the door if this doesn't work out.
Give pryor some real weapons and more than 1 year in a system and let's see what he can do. Schaub is who he is.. if they're getting schaub they're not going to run anything complex. they're going to have him be a game manager.. so why wouldn't you just do that with pryor and bring him along?
I believe it's an insurance thing. They look at Schaub's experience and feel like a change of scenery will help him bounce back to legitimacy. I don't like the plan but I understand. These dudes are on the last year of their contract and they're not going to bet the house on Pryor not developing and/ or getting injured again. We have cap space. I'm not too excited but that's what it is.
And an even bolder move would be if they decide to move Pryor via trade. Then they'll really be on the hook for some wins. If TP figures it out, he could be dangerous. And what I do like is that he refuses to change positions. That's a smart move during his rookie contract. If someone wants him to change positions, pay him for it.
Dre won't be a free agent until 2017 at which time he will be 36 years old. He will likely retire then.
