Am I the only one who sees Nerlens Noel as a bust in terms of expectations on a #1 pick? Shit, I'd be pissed if I was a Cavs fan, because they have to take Dude based on the media, but he's too damn one dimensional IMO... Dude will defend and rebound a little, but his skinny ass ain't muscling or scoring over anyone... You have be able to score consistently along with other stuff to be #1 pick as I see it... Dude is less than reliable on the offensive end outside of Dunks and putbacks... :hmm:

His absolute max as a player is Kenyon Martin...a good player in his prime, but never close to a franchise player.

Not physical enough... Larry Sanders (Bucks) maybe... :hmm:

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

We are soooooo having a lockout in 2016-2017 season.

DAN Gilbert needs to make sure he can hold on to these players.

What's funny

Under the current CBA he won't be able to keep these players if they all pan out.

Kyrie is getting the Supermax lock that in.

That means Tristan and Dion have to fight over who gets 4 yr contract

Karma is a bitch huh

You already know

That fag shit his own self in the foot trying to get back at Lebron

Not physical enough... Larry Sanders (Bucks) maybe... :hmm:

I mean he'll gain weight...and I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt assuming he maxes out. He's got a really short jumper he can hopefully develop some like Martin, but nothing more.

Better comparison

Kenyon Martin was always a physical player

You can't compare Noel to him other than their limited offensive games

He might end up a Stromile Swift ass nigga

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

Mavericks #13th pick....:suicide:

We may trade it :smh:

http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/mave...urces-mavs-trying-to-trade-no-13-overall-pick

The Dallas Mavericks might not actually use the first lottery pick they've owned in a dozen years.

Multiple sources told ESPN.com's Chad Ford that the Mavs are likely to trade the pick to help create the cap space necessary to make a run at Dwight Howard in free agency. The 13th overall pick has a cap hold of $1,655,300.

One of the Mavs' future first-round picks is already in the possession of the Oklahoma City Thunder. That pick, which is top-20 protected through 2017, was originally given up in the deal that brought Lamar Odom to Dallas. The Los Angeles Lakers traded it to Houston along with Derek Fisher for Jordan Hill, and it then became part of the package the Rockets gave up for James Harden.

If the Mavs hold on to this year's pick, Ford projects them to select Croation teenage small forward Dario Saric.

We knew this would get fucked up in some way no matter what

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

My Nig he won't be.

Kyrie is due first. He gets the biggest deal the supermax. (if he makes another all star game) 5 yr 80-95 million.

So lets say any of these players develop to be a better player than Kyrie they can't even max them out.

This is OKC all over.

Now comes the question. Who will be taking pay cuts.

Durant Westbrook and Ibaka all took paycuts. Will Kyrie, Tristan, Waiters and whoever they pick at #1.

It's easy to go over the cap when you have Lebron bringing in money but minus no Lebron in this new CBA :lol::lol:

I can't agree with this. Tristan and Waiters are no Ibaka, Westbrook, or Harden. And who knows if they keep that number one pick. This just kinda sounds like hate to me. Both those players would have to truly break out next season before I can compare the Cavs to OKC.

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

I would draft Rudy Gorbert over Noel Nerlens if I am going to take a project big.

Re: ~**~**~**~ 2013 NBA Offseason and Draft Thread~**~**~

If they don't want to pay the pick I don't see why they don't just draft a foreigner and keep them overseas for a year or two.

I'd rather them do that than just completely throw away the chance to get a young prospect

We just did this in 2011 :smh:

Stupid. :smh:
We need to start building the team through the draft.
Dwight aint coming.
Cuban and Nellie know this. They sellin wolf tickets.

Why are they doing this to us fam?

Tony Allen Hopes To Re-Sign With Grizzlies
May 25, 2013 7:41 PM EDT

Tony Allen will be an unrestricted free agent at season's end, but the 31-year-old defensive specialist would prefer to remain a Memphis Grizzly.

"I don't even understand the business side," Allen said. "When July hits, somebody is going to have to sit me down and explain it. All I know is I'm a Grizzly and I believe I'm going to be a Grizzly when it's over with.

"I bleed blue. I think they going to keep me. But if they don't, I understand.

"I don't even think about it now. I just play. I love being in Memphis. I love the city. Hopefully I stay here. It feels like home."

Allen is earning a reported $3.3 million this season.

Great Job again Mask

Byron Scott talks with the Clippers

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...scott-vacant-coach-position-according-sources

No shock here said it in the other thread. Byron Scott would likely be the favorite. It's his to turn down especially knowing his relationship with CP3

Karl Malone joins the Utah Jazz coaching staff

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/e...s-utah-jazz-coaching-staff-to-develop-big-men

this move tells me everything I need to know about where the Jazz are going. They will not try to keep Al or Paul. It's rebuilding time. Many fans were upset and ownership is upset because they are now saying they were screwed in the Deron Williams trade especially in comparison with how Denver is doing.

Houston Rockets plan to trade Thomas Robinson to free up cap space for run at Dwight Howard

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--h...space-for-run-at-dwight-howard-215915027.html

This is huge before this the Rockets could sign Dwight but his contract would start at some where around 18 million for the first year but if this deal happens the Rockets could start him off with 20 million in his first year. Usually some max contracts take their third yr to hit 20 million that would mean the Rockets are actually trying to pay Dwight as much as they can in 4 yr period

Which makes perfect sense for Dwight. Dwight signs a 4 yr deal with opt out option in yr 3 he could get his fifth year right there.

As said before fifth year is used as insurance for players if they are injured or fall off.

Dwight will likely command another max contract either way but if the Rockets start him off at 20 million in his first season this will likely be a 4 yr deal that could convince him to sign with Houston
