So me and bills will be doing ongoing season analysis/commentary in this thread.....game of the night, breakdown of the conferences, awards races etc,

We will be starting off with this Clippers/OKC game

Yes indeed. Also be on the lookout for a podcast we are putting together to discuss all things basketball related.

Time for sports to be talked about by US.

Fans who know the game but also don't have to answer to execs or have meetings on talking points brought about by producers.

Scott Brooks is starting to have his guys hack the Clipper bigs and putting his team in the penalty in that quarter quite stupidly.

I am curious if he will continue this in the fourth.

when teams get to this stage with a lead I always wonder why they dont draw out the shot clock more and starve their opponent for time

How did Bargnani do tonight???:D

Dont know but this here is your boy the other day

He dropped 15pts in that game... Matching Melo's 15pts.

Tonight he had 20pts and 11rebs...

When has Novak ever given us 20pts and 10 or more boards???:dunno:

Bargs only get his stats against weak front lines keep it real breh

Dude is a bum

Dude right about NY teams not being able to get outta there way...noway should the nets have lost to the kings and smh at my Knicks blowing a 15 point lead to the hawks after the hawks already conceded the game...

:smh: Damn Nets man. I hopped on the bandwagon and these dudes are looking iffy as hell.

Plus I am starting to notice the teams that have been 'built' over the course of a couple of years seems to be doing the best early in the season. I argued the Nets would be a 50 win team, but damn this start of a season.

Why their problem is they are trying to build thir teams to mimick the Heat and that hit don't work because well they don't have a Lebron James plain and simple that's why they will continuously lose in a 7 game series to the Heat

Snicks, Nets, Pacers etc.

2 games on the cards tonight

NY vs Houston..................2 bad defenses playing one another.

OKC vs GS.....the marquee matchup

The first matchup NYK v HOU

To say these two teams have been bad defensively is to truly understate the case. Missed rotations galore, giving up wide open perimeter looks, general apathy.

Factors to watch

HOU has the size to dominate on the inside with the Asik/Howard frontcourt. Expect the Knicks to be outrebounded out the wazoo in this one. Whether this translates into offensive production is a mystery from night to night.

Point guard play- The two head combo of Beverly and Lin has actually been good for Houston this year and I suspect will be a boon for them as the season progresses. One thing to note Felton in the two meetings last year seemed to try too hard as he probably wanted to show up Lin.

Prigioni is a solid floor general who I think should actually get more minutes and using him alongside Felton like they did for stretches helped NYK space the floor to great effect when they blew out teams last year.

Carmelo Anthony- Melo has not been himself this year. He had elected not to have shoulder surgery in the offseason and as I watch him at times I wonder if the shoulder is not still giving him issues. I think he has taken less quality shots this year and as he spends time alongside JR in lineups I wonder if this wont end up being a mess as JR is not a model of judicious selection himself.

If Houston gets out and runs tonite off rebounds expect this to get very messy very quickly

Amare Stoudemire is dying a slow basketball death in front of our eyes.

Tipoff in an hour

Damn, this dude Howard is such a bum (at least on offense). He has not really gotten that much better since he has been on the league .

The rockets need to fire McHale and hire a Spurs assistant coach or something man.

Bargs doing a good job on Howard smh...

All of these odd post ups that he starts far away without deep position are pointless.

HOU should pick and roll them to death

Right..

Easily there can be one play designed to get Howard posted on the block.

All of this! Stop feeding the rock to Howard in the post, dude is a turnover waiting to happen! If the Rockets guards knew how to pass and throw lobs, Howard would be more efficient on the pick and roll.

He'd turn the ball over less if he would get the ball closer to the basket. Dude is trying to bully his way to the paint and losing control. 13 feet out :smh: 5 to 7 is better. He doesn't need to dribble that close.

Howard needs to run the floor and get deeper position in the post. He is an athletic big man who should be quite often be able to beat his man down the court.

If he is too far out...kick out...and repost till he is closer

I could of sworn that's what dude was doing when he was beasting in Orlando. Now he looks uncertain when he catches the ball.
