16 yr old LeBron getting discovered at ABCD camp after dominating the number 1 player

Amid enticing agent promises that explicitly stated a dozen NBA teams were seriously considering him and at least three guaranteed they would take him in the 1st round if he were available,[13] Cooke chose to bypass college and declare himself eligible for the 2002 NBA Draft, a decision which ended his eligibility to play college basketball.[5] Cooke participated in the Chicago Pre-Draft Camp, where he was measured at 6 ft 5.5 in (1.97 m) without shoes, 6 ft 6.5 in (1.99 m) with shoes, with a 7 ft 1 in (2.16 m) wingspan;[14] during the camp he injured his big toe and this limited his performance at the camp to only one game.[5]
To his surprise and disappointment, in the 2002 NBA Draft, all 29 NBA teams passed on Cooke in both rounds.[15] Because he was not selected, Cooke became a free agent, eligible to sign with any NBA team that wanted him

Only a percentage of kids can handle that pressure though.

Universities are giving students at least 4 mental health days a semester because of pressure.

Even at my daughter’s school and she online. Different breed of kids and society coddles them.

I'm going through this now with my son, he's starting to get into that mindset of not listening to his parents, but we are on the path of correction by removing his "fun" stuff...im not here to be your best friend, but im here to teach you how to survive when mom and dad are no longer gone....

I know it's a movie but that line from Black Panther where T'Chaka tells him "A man who has not prepared his children for his own death has failed as a father. Have I ever failed you?" rings true every day for me. I can't afford to fail..

Damn, that line is real as fuck.

I’m going through it as well. My daughter presents something new every year we have to correct. And she is very sensitive. She’s a cancer, so you know those types gets in their feelings easily. Lol.

But, I’ve already snatched some fun stuff this week. This child has a bad habit of procrastination. It’s almost like she wants me to fuss at her.
