WHAT A LOT OF PARENTS NEED TO DO IS STOP LIVING VICARIOUSLY THROUGH THEIR KIDS. BE HAPPY YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR KIDS ARE, AND ALSO BE HAPPY THAT THE WORST THING THEY ARE INTO IS VIDEO GAMES. IF PEOPLE START TAKING TIME WITH THEIR KIDS THIS SHIT WOULD NOT BE AND ISSUE.
AND ALSO ON ANOTHER NOTE PEOPLE SHOULD EXPAND THEIR PORTFOLIO. INSTEAD OF PUSHING YOUR KIDS TO BE DOCTORS, LAWYER BALLPLAYERS OR SOMETHING PUSH THEM TOWARDS GAMING AND PROGRAMMING MAKE THEM KNOW HOW THIS SYSTEM WORKS. not enough information here. the 10 year old may have been a "special needs" child for whom the computer served as an anchor to reality.
the only other thing i'm curious about is what were the names of the games that the 10 year old was denied access to. that would clear up the question for me.

I think he was more trying to reinforce that the line between reality and fantasy is more easily distorted in some people vs others.
