10 Producers Accused of Making the Same Beat Over and Over Again

Since you've studied Timbaland, did he ghost-produce these tracks? Or only did the drum programming?

i hear devante in these more than anything. So even if tim did some programming or production on them, it was still when he was heavily under mr swing's influence.

im probably the only nigga in the world who likes swizzz beats better than all the producers on that list, including primo

trust ur not..i never gave a shit about most rappers lyrics cause i knew most of them were full of shit..i always like beats ova verses..that nig swizz made music fun in the late 90's..if swizz was on it i was like:dance::dance::dance:

this shit had me goin nuts when i first heard it..they never made a proper vid for it smh

i'm surprised cole didn't know that. i heard for years that the other guy did all the work. dream is more so the writer/arranger though, if i'm not mistaken.

don't act like you haven't lol

I swear dream produced all that shit cause damn near every song The Dream dropped when he first came out sounded exactly the same with that dumb ass Prince rip...its hard to explain what it is.

Dream was the writer and performer and "co-produced" some of the joints, but most of the heavy lifting on the production end was Los and Tricky. But all of those cats were under the same roof in RedZone Studios in ATL so they played off of each other and that's why Dream had somewhat of a consistent sound. Los and Tricky's rooms were literally like 10 steps away from each other. That's why they all had those flanged drums & percussion which came from Los.

it's one of his lazier pieces.

Lol. Not sure how true it is, but I always heard rumblings that Brian Kidd was actually behind that joint.

tricky, that's who i was thinking about.

I wouldn't be that shocked if that was true about Brian Kidd.

It's not a big deal that so many of these things are collaborative in nature but knowing who did what makes reading some credits a funny experience.

a lot of credit is knowingly misplaced.

i remember when i used to be happy enough just to be in the room that that shit didn't matter to me. a dumb ass kid.

Tell me his top 5

More like top 50

Anything from 96-UNTIL now. Timbo is a beast, crisp mixture, rhythm , sick drums that many bit for years.

Distinctive sound & still not stale. Tim is up at the top when it come to producers.

I was in Carson road trip, Soultrain Awards early 1996, in a rental visiting in LALA in those years, smoking Mendocino's finest. Learned my lesson buying in the Rolling 60's on Kansas or 92nd & Fig. Niggaz still was still smoking majority booboo headache in LA in those days. Only a few cats in LA had that duper.

When I heard ...

yeah top 5 for someone who has made platinum consistently for like 20 years is wild hard

so much of his shit with missy was ill as fuck.

you can tell the difference between back then when he was in that zone and later when he started phoning a lot of it in.

the thing is, his phoning it in still crushes because his grooves are so crazy.

something serious was going on in virginia back in the day. all them muhfuckas made ORIGINAL ass shit. devante's sound was crazy, timbo's sound another kind of crazy, pharrell'nem an entirely different version of crazy.

VA always had an advantage musically. Since it's in between the north and the south,
they were exposed to both sides more so than cats stuck on one side.
Not to mention the go go influence from DC.

Talent is innate. You can develop a fade away, but that natural ability to smash the rim against a defender thats 6'7 on 2 dribbles from 20 ft cant be taught.

The right artist brings yo shit alive. "Scheme on watch type ballaz" = fake ballaz. Jay the half billion dollar MC, next closest MC is my dude Ice Cube. A horse that dont win races aint a winning horse. Some of Jay best tracks was with TIM.

Jay " You gotta lot of crew/ do any of them bust " Lobster & shrimp.

Bro Timbo's mixes are sonically Alien!!!!!!! The Clarity is out of the this world! I seen him say(which always been standard) you get out what you put in...I guess he creates his sounds.. I really want to get into creating my own sounds from saw and sine waves but known where to even start doing that shit. Timbo is one of the GOATs of the production game...oh the nigga is terribly awkward in real life so I guess he spends a lot of time alone.

Missy's production was OK. She had potential if she kept going. I think her strength was finding a hypnotizing simple melody and building around it. The tracks would have been annoying after awhile without her songwriting on them.
In da 00's, Rockwilder was terribly overrated too.
Rockwilder was scum..dude didn't produce shit. He bought tracks and put his name on there...I respected his hustle but knew this from the jump.

Where you plugged at Shaddy?
