Wanna start a business? Here's a food truck idea.... "serve $1 grilled cheese made with white bread, bulk cheese, bulk butter, and that's it. greasy as hell. no options, no artisan, nothing. there will be no change. you give me $5 you're getting 5, you figure your own life out
.45¢ is the cost of goods
.55¢ is profit per sandwich sold.. 1,000 Grilled Cheese a day for 5 days = $2,750 a week
or $143,000 per year
Still laughing?
Mike Senkowsky That’s the hard part! … if it was easy everyone would be doing it.
A simple food truck with a simple varied menu making $1,000 per day is more feasible
Kelly Trojanowski Mike Schario does this cost include a tray, or wrap of some sort? Gas for the generator to run said food truck?
Taylor Fenoglio Mike Schario ya that's not realistic at all. Everyone knows there is only a limited amount of time you are selling during the day. Even if you sold non stop for 8 hrs that's 125 sandwich in an hr. Employing multiple people full time just to make them that fast would be far more than the cost. A single person would probably realistic sell that Many in a day not every hr for 8 hrs every day

The combination of factors on this has me convinced that the profit margins would be razor thin with a business running on this exact model. A few changes would help. Everyone talks about this one but I’m waiting for someone to do it and prove me wrong. Imagine owning your own food truck and taking all the risk and paying yourself $15/hr.
