‘Rampage’ injured; Machida gets shot at Evans

I think everyone realizes it.

Right now UFC has no real competition and he locks people up to long term contracts at a certain salary. Gives little bonuses for knockouts, blah blah. A lot of boxing trainers make more money than UFC fighters, while Dana gets rich having one pay per view event a month.

And look at people like Tito Ortiz, what other outlet does he have making money :dunno: Join all of these USFL MMA companies and hope they don't fail. Josh Koschek was basically forced to stay with UFC.

I remember dude used to brag about how he used to have to have a whole card of quality fights and named fighters, unlike boxing. Look at his past few cards, it's been BJ Penn/GSP and garbage. Rampage and Forest and garbage. Rampage and Jardine and garbage. Dudes becoming just like Don King.

You also have to consider it from the business end. You see the massive payouts that Affliction gives some of its fighters, but they are losing money every show and may cease to exist in a year. Plus the upper tier guys like Rampage and Chuck are doing pretty damn good, you seen Rampages car lol. But the lower level cats don't get a whole lot. Some of them cats are like lower level boxers, have extra jobs. I know alot of the guys get by from their sponsors, plus some of them own gyms, and also get money from appearances and training other fighters.

But one thing about UFC, their cards rarely suck, no matter who is fighting. Even if it's some no names they will lay it on the line and put on an interesting fight. Thats why I don't hesitate to order most of their PPV's b/c I know they will be good. Which I can't say the same for boxing.

Better for Rampage, I don't think he would have had enough rest and time off to prepare for Shad.

I think Rashad takes Machida. Machida hasn't fought anyone as quick and elusive as Rashad. I think Rashads wrestling may prove key here, but I see the first few rounds with both guys bouncing around trying to feel each other out. Rashad likes to dance and wait for the right time to strike, Machica likes to get in and out and likes to counter strike too. If it doesn't go to the ground could be a boring fight for the first couple rounds or so. I see it heating up.

Only thing is Rashad has the edge in explosiveness and knock out power so he can win a fight at any time. The Silva KO aside, Machida is not really a knockout guy. He normally wins by decision. I don't see him taking Rashad down, and if Rashad happens to be losing the stand up, I see him going for the takedown and GnP. Easier said than done, but I think Rashad wins this fight.

I see you don't know Machida. He has faced quick guys before. And trust me, just because you haven't seen it, he does have knockout power. Evans doesn't really have an edge because Machida has fought some of the best and trains with some of the best. This will be a huge test for Evans but if he wins, I think that will show that he is is ready to hold the gold and face Rampage.

y'all some ignorant uninformed motherfuckers

if you like MMA even a little bit you should kneel down and kiss Dana White fucking feet

Because without him there wouldn't be any of this shit u see today.

I aint say he aint fight anyone quick, just sayin not as quick as rashad. Just judging by Machidas style, Rashads explosiveness, wrestling, and the fact that he can be more aggressive than Machida might win him a decision. I'm not say Lyoto is a bum b/c he is anything but, but just looking at the 2 styles, I think Rashad has a slight edge, should be an intersting fight though.

Nigga Rampage fucked up his jaw talking that shit to Rashad.

Dana White is pimping these dudes and they cant see it.

As a "casual" fan, I can see it though.

Rampage would of had 3 fights in 5 months is insane

They would never let that shit go down in boxing.

Its not even the fights, but its the training that becomes dangerous to your body

plus you can over train and that isn't good either

Dana = Pimp

luckily for Rampage he has an injury, but he needs to stop bending over backwards for this dude

nah. Dana stood by Rampage through his whole ordeal. He and Rampage are friends. It's not like he's just using dude to make money.

There is also some shit with Ken Shamrock and steroid use. They say he is suspended. But anyways Quinton just came off of a fight so it's understandable that he needs time off.

Everybody knows Machida is a great fighter but there is something I notice about him that others don't: his ability to take hard strikes. I have observed many of his fights especially his one with Sokojou and his offensive and defensive(as far as well manuvering goes) is good. But he is not good at taking hard strikes. That's his weakness.

He has been so used to not getting hit that much. So what happens when you get somebody in there with him that can catch up with him and strike?

Let's see, put somebody in their with the stiking KO power of Chuck Liddell and the wrestling ability of Randy Cutour. Machida would be in big big trouble.

But Rashad better study Machida very, very, very good. He can't afford to be cocky with this one. Watch all of his videos. This is going to be his toughest opponent. Leroy Dibiase, W7, Alex W, and others can sure Co sign.

This will be Rashad AND Machida's hardest fight. But this is a bigger jump in competition for Machida, than it is for Rashad.

Everyone talks about Machida's elusiveness, but Rashad doesn't get hit either. He uses the 52 Blocks and incorporates it into his boxing.

When Rampage finally gets healthy, he will face Evans for the title. Mark my words.

Fixed that for you.

Machida hasn't fought much of anybody to be honest.

LOL if it wasn't for the Firettas that invested into the bankrupt, banned UFC there would be no MMA....DANA is just the president....DANA deserves respect for everyhing he has done...but he tends to try to be more than the sport and the fighters...

and he is not above them.....

kiss his feet?...he fucked up MMA getting on national TV...fucked up on getting FEDOR into the UFC....

he has made many blunders.....this is why many fighters complain about him...

stop the DANA worship...he doesn't even want other MMA brands grow...which is in his company and sports best interest...

nah. Dana stood by Rampage through his whole ordeal. He and Rampage are friends. It's not like he's just using dude to make money.

word and he was even going to court with him and helping him out with his legal drama...

they were friends even when UFC fighters went to Japan to fight in Pride to showcase the UFC...when Rampage was a star in Japan

they have been friends for a while...

Rashad vs Machida... has the potential to be a snooze fest... they'll spend the first 3 round feeling each other out. Sooner or later they have to engage, but I don't really see either of them pushing the action a lot early. Rashad has the edge in wrestling and athleticism. Machida is good in the clinch, and even though you know that foot sweep is coming he still gets it off a lot.

I'm glad that Rampage is taking a little time off. It is very hard to train at that high a level for that long. Give him 5 months or so... then let's see him and Rashad fight it out for the title.

Machida is a very patient counter striker...and he is elusive and very boring...your right it will be pretty boring...if anything this fight is better for Evans than Rampage....

'Page pushes the fight and has excellent striking offense and defense..and is a pretty decent wrestler....

I see 'Page and Evens maybe fall or late summer....

Dana not taking that CBS deal was the right thing. The UFC didn't need CBS. CBS wanted to put their hands all in and would've forced the UFC to push "popular" fighters and not good fighters.

never thought about it like that...I somewhat agree...

the main purpose of that deal was to get MMA more popular....and the UFC more mainstream...

at the end of the day that was the purpose...which I kind of agree with...he couldn't do it...and when EXC did it all he did was trash GARY SHAW and shit....and the whole company like a hating bitch...

honestly MMA is still in its infancy...you think a casual fan would want to see Maia and not Chuck or Randy?

regardless what org. got on national TV the network would want the most popular fighters on the card...

too bad ,I was looking forward to Rampage vs.Rashard

dont sleep on Machida ,dude is very well rounded , he sticks to a Karate type style ,so people say he is boring

but when was time last time he lost ???

Dana is in the position to not HAVE to take that deal, unless it is exactly the way he wants it to. Imagine the announcers they had doing the CBS shows doing UFC fights. I almost vomited when Gay ass petruzelli KO'd kimbo and the black announcer was like 'the biggest upset in the history of MMA'

They have a good thing going, and you know CBS and/or HBO wasn't going to just let Dana walk in and run it his way.

Dawg, do your history it was Dana fighting the athletic commissions and getting the unified rules in place.

The dude is the reason the sport is the power house it is now and not some joke tough man shit....there wouldn't be shit to BE o
national tv if it wasn't for the work he's done

and we see the joke these other promotions have been
dude didn't want a tv deal until the shit was right and he was wise to do so.

fuck Fedor his dumb ass management kept him out of the UFC if that tubby ass wants to fight has-beens and freakshows in Japan for the rest of his career that's on him

Because Zuffa is on top everybody want to throw darts at the throne. I love this sport and respect the hell out of these guys because they've protected the sport and have grown it smartly over the past 20 years.

The fact there is the UFC and the everybody else shows you how well they run this shit.

Show the man some respect

did I disrespect DANA..or MMA..or the UFC??????...I'm not a midless zombie...I show love for the shit that DANA...and the Friettas (sp?) have done...

but he is not worthy of getting his feet kiss...or any man....by me...

he has fucked up in many ways and I point that shit out...been watching MMA the sport for years....and been watching the UFC for a while too...I have seen the sport and that ORG blossom...

they are a monopoly....the sport is still not a household thing...this is why I love ROGAN cuz he is always showing love to other ORGs and there fighters becuase he and others are trying to make MMA a bigger sport....

DANA hates on almost any and every org ZUFFA does not have a hand in...he even hates on their good fighters...so brotha please....

and he tries to be bigger than the fighters and the damn sport man...if I'm lying I'm flying....

did you hear is recent interview with Rashad Evans?!
Evans said he will never fight a team mate (Jardine who also fights at 205)....

DANA's response "yes you will...you will fight whoever I tell you to fight..."

:smh:

like I said he needs to STFU and stop trying to be more than the damn sport sometimes...

I'm sorry but you need to do more research. Machida has beaten BJ Penn, Rich Franklin, and Tito Ortiz. Who has Rashad faced that can touch those three? Should I remind you that he drew with Ortiz.

The only time Dana and them have gone at other orgs is when dumbasses like Gary Shaw went at them, fuck 'em. When Zuffa bought the UFC property the shit was ready to be DONE, they could hold fights on some Indian reservations in Mississippi or some shit and through their tireless work they've built up the sport to point where they are playing out stadium and being featured on ESPN.

The thing about Rashad and Jardine they've fought before and they will fight again if the money is right and that was what Dana was referring to. Tito tried to pull the same shit Chuck and we see how that went, this is a business and sport.

they fought on TUF...they are not only training partners but very good friends...they both SAID NO....

not everything has a price....DANA thinks so...

True. Some say that is why Evans was upset after the Rampage/Jardine fight

he had an interview I think on Monday...he said he was piss cuz he saw Jardine lose and Rampage is over there talking shit...thats why he confronted him....and started to use profanity in the exchange....

thats why "Page got upset and said "don't do that..."

So what that made the fight any less real? This is their business and if it makes sense and Zuffa come with the right money it WILL happen. As I said situations like this have happened before Zuffa usually accommodates fighters who say they don't want to fight training partners, but it usually does come down to the money. For enuff money you'll fight your momma, shit she might kick your ass if you don't take the money.

they aren't the Shamrocks...next some ppl don't let money dictate shit they do all the time...

next I wouldn't fight someone that trains with me all the time or s/o I am close with...thats just stupid....

ProElite basically sold their souls for that deal. It was all CBS. CBS' commentators, CBS chose fights, CBS chose everything.

I'm sorry but you need to do more research. Machida has beaten BJ Penn, Rich Franklin, and Tito Ortiz. Who has Rashad faced that can touch those three? Should I remind you that he drew with Ortiz.

No. YOU need to do some research. BJ fights at 155 and was blown up for that fight and Machida STILL only won by a split decision. Machida, a legit 205er barely beat a 155lber. C'mon.

He beat Rich back in 2003 when he was still new to game and sub teaching at the same time. That was 6 years ago and Franklin is a 205er.

And Tito back was damn near crippled. And Machida STILL almost got choked out by a triangle. He still beat him though, no doubt.

Machida is good, Machida is great. I don't think he is this superstar that all the MMA internet nerd fans think he is. He hasn't fought a top 5 fighter. Hell, he's only fought 1 top 10 fighter in the world. Rashad has fought 3 (or 4).

Say that when you are offered $$$$
ask Chuck and Titio.

Chuck and Tito weren't friends really. They didn't train together and chuck wanted to fight Tito from jump, but Tito was saying they were friends to duck him. Both Evans and Jardine are adamant about not fighting each other.

Preach.....shit I was saying....

They did train together

but not on the level Evans, Nate, GSP, Jardine, Lousieu do...

these guys eat together know eachother family and shit....

Chuck and Tito where never on the level Jardine and Evans are...

to sum it up...some ppl do hold shit over money...money is not everything...

and both have said NO many times...thats it....
