The club thing with Jay & Pun happened upstate, but no bottles to the head if I remember correctly from my boys who used to roll with TS.
Pun may have grabbed a bottle or something and put it against jay's head.
Anyone with sense knows:
Jay won the war.
If Pun hit Jay over the head with a bottle where is the scar?
Why wouldnt Fat Joe or ANYONE from TS just admit to it!!
How come they are so scared to say it.
It has been 20 years!
yeah there may have been an altercation maybe pun even swung at him with the bottle, but i doubt it landed on Jay's head. I think many have bent the truth regarding the incident.
when i first heard it back in 2001... i declared that nas won the battle... i was in 8th grade then and the cats in my class was all over jay team like "he will slaughter nas" but i wasnt looking at it as a popularity contest... i looked at it from a non biased hip hop head perspective also a street perspective too... i feel like the FANS and MAINSTREAM media rolled with jay... but the streets had sided with nas....
i always felt nas won... and i also felt that ether was incomplete... over the past decade i have came across tons of stories from niggas from NY and people that i know thats close to the industry that there were tons of lost verses from ether that nas spoke on big pun smacking jay with a bottle deeper in to the relationship with dame... and other things that the label heads claim couldnt be released because it would of destroyed jays career and he may not be who he is today
does anybody have any info or truth on this? especially my NY niggas... yall will know more than anybody...
I always thought Jay won, I guess that Blueprint album was so dope and the Roc was coming with it. I think all those who say Nas won were simply on some root for the under dog type shyt. either was dope, but as I listen to it today, the 3rd verse made the song
"
Y'all niggas deal with emotions like bitches
What's sad is I love you 'cause you're my brother
You traded your soul for riches
My child, I've watched you grow up to be famous
And now I smile like a proud dad, watching his only son that made it
You seem to be only concerned with dissing women
Were you abused as a child, scared to smile, they called you ugly?
Well life is hard, hug me, don't reject me
Or make records to disrespect me, blatent or indirectly
In '88 you was getting chased through your building
Calling my crib and I ain't even give you my numbers
All I did was gave you a style for you to run with
Smiling in my face, glad to break bread with the god
Wearing Jaz chains, no tecs, no cash, no cars
No jail bars Jigga, no pies, no case
Just Hawaiian shirts, hanging with little Chase
You a fan, a phony, a fake, a pussy, a Stan
I still whip your ass, you thirty-six in a karate class
You Tae-bo hoe, tryna' work it out, you tryna' get brolic?
Ask me if I'm tryna' kick knowledge
Nah, I'm tryna' kick the shit you need to learn though
That ether, that shit that make your soul burn slow
Is he Dame Diddy, Dame Daddy or Dame Dummy?
Oh, I get it, you Biggie and he's Puffy"
if it wasn't for that one verse, that shyt may have ended nas's career.
Because so many were jealous of Jay and disliked him for many reasons i thought all that led to people saying Nas won, all the under dog cats, its like all the boroughs were going to team up to try to overthrow Brooklyn or some shyt. I remember up in Queens that summer ngz was talking greasy bout Jay, but they had all his tapes.

to the op, i'm not buying that bs about the record label thought the nas verse would end jay's career so they cut it.
