i was the first on BGOL to introduce them on the POLITICS board several years ago in discussions with member KOAN and MR SKEPTIC.
in general, attorneys and philosophy majors are pretty good at spotting them.
there are dullards on BGOL who like to accuse others of "ad hominem" to pretend like they are educated, but they always prove their ignorance in the improper labeling of a claim. for the record, it is NOT an instance of ad hominem when a claim is validly refuted AND is accompanied by a claim against the person.

What's "all this stuff" I'm supposedly talking about? I haven't expressed my views one way or the other. All I've asked for are facts to support claims made. I'm here for enlightenment so show me where, beyond your or anyone's opinion, the Big Bang Theory and evolution are "inextricably" linked.

I could not have been far behind you. I have been mentioning logical fallacies for years on here too. Most threads here are full of them. You could spend all day just listing them. I used to reply to some posts and just list off the logical fallacies.
i like to have fun with the fallacies on here from time to time. BGOL is a circus for the poorly reasoned argument. requesting logical foundation or well-reasoned conclusion is virtually a lost cause. just the other day i was participating in a thread where one of the users cited the "eyeball test" as evidence.
you can always tell the people with INFERIORITY complexes about their level of education too. they think that understanding logical fallacies is akin to some mental kung-fu; i liken it more to a practical tool akin to spell check or grammar check.
