i like her!!!

costa rican & west indian.................. dont identify as american.....
c/s
I was at school talking to some american brothers today and shit was like ""
The people who come here from Africa be on some "Next Level" shit, and once you reach that level its hard as hell to even relate to any American(Black, white, or whatever).
I identify most with my countrymen and non-american blacks the most.........
"african"-americans are just as bad and racist as crackas in my book.
I had the discussion with one dude and three females that I work with. It started because one of the females made a comment about the Somalian "pirates" that I didn't like. I schooled her as to why the Somalians conduct themselves the way that they do in their waters, but she couldn't understand why I would side with the Somalians. And this was AFTER I told her about how American and French energy companies dump toxic waste in their water without asking or letting them know.
That led me to ask all of them if they identified more with other Americans, people of African descent, or men/women in general. One of the females chose Americans and the other two chose women in general. The dude picked African Americans because, in his words, Africans don't use deodorant.Mind you, these are all college educated African-Americans. The discussion became rather heated at one point and we all agreed to disagree in the end.
Shit, i'm almost at the point where I don't give a fuck anymore. That's part of the reason I made this thread. Trying to enlighten people that don't want to be enlightened is very stressing, especially when you realize the depths of their ignorance, the strength of their willingness to remain ignorant and how much they out number the amount of people that actually have information that they want to share to help these people.
Can you give a brief synopsis of what was discussed with the americans, what you mean by "next level" shit, and why it's hard to relate to americans? I don't have an angle, i'm just curious.![]()
tough question
Its hard to say.
I am hesitant to associate myself with any group that will have anonymous members.
Circumstances would dictate me to align with whatever group that offers me and my family the most benefits at a particular point in time.
Well the discussion was about Spring break(next week) and some greek event being promoted about a night club and how all the "Bruhs" were going be getting luck in there next week...Really nothing all too different than what we would say on here, but in a classroom environment(Which it was) it had people looking ""
By next level I mean steady about their business. Africans(and Asians to be fair) stay their ass in the library. It may be a stereotype, but it holds true. Our school is so fucked up by this now, that during different times of the day they will have black radio stations coming to the school to distract black students to keep them out of the library. They call this keeping "Loud" people out. The African organizations stay their ass in the library studying and networking...Next level shit. Their women, in there studying in numbers...Shits just different
The relate factor is based merely on culture. It just seems the American(Sounds weird putting this there because I am American) kids are there to party or for a good time, while the others will have their good time, but show more focus during school.
No don't quit, your abilities are required... He need our orators and historians, those who are beacons in this horrible time...
Follow principle # 2: help none which don't help themselves. There are still kids and adults who need the clever fella by the old tree.
Ok, so you're a college student i'm guessing. What was it about your parents upbringing that made you and your people more serious about your education? Also, is African-American history something that's discussed/taught in your household? Lastly, and you can answer this (or the other questions) if you'd like, but let's say you wanted to marry a girl who's family is African-American. How would your family feel about that, and what would be some of the reasons that they would give for not wanting you to chose an African-American for a mate? Again, I don't have an angle. With this thread, I'm really trying to make sense of a lot of questions that i've had since I was a child.![]()
Bad grades werent, and are still, not accepted...simple as that.
I am African American, but my dad(early 50's southern dude) has expressed that he would be "Shocked" if I married an African American woman based on my general disposition.
Ok, the way you were speaking, I assumed you were from outside of the US. I'm glad that you were instilled with great educational values. Your parents are to be commended most definitely. I still would like to know the level of importance placed on African-American history when you were growing up.![]()
Very high I suppose. We werent walking around in Dishikis or anything, but they made sure I knew.
All People of African descent
I already knew how you would answer love.![]()
Lol
Truthfully I relate more to the women of African descent but can identify with both sexes of African descent ... black is black
I see nothing wrong with identifying more with black women, but I've ran across a few black women who identify more with ALL women then blacks in general. That troubles me.
Yeah I find that troubling too
For me its black women then black men then everybody else is on the same level
I put American but i meant to put all people.. My personal friends range from black ppl to Ukranians
Why did you put the word "ALL" when asking these questions...
![]()
the word "all" is throwin me off.
i consider myself a blackman 1st and foremost.
i'm an american and i have love for people of african descent here and all over the globe.
i can relate to/ kick it with ANYBODY with a positive spirit regardless of color, age, level of wealth.
When I say all I'm just talking about the group as a whole. It's not important.
