This. It bred harder people. I hate to sound like Don King but 15 round fights separate the contenders from the pretenders. I don't think it's any coincidence that the "old guys" in boxing like B-Hop, Glen Johnson and Marquez are still up there out-toughing these young dudes. How many blue chip young fighters have had their lack of toughness exposed in the last couple of years, Victor Martinez, Chad Dawson, Devon Alexander and a few more I can't name right now, it's pretty bad. I'm not saying a guy should intentionally go out there to take punishment, but damn, dudes get a cut over their eye and all of a sudden can't see and quit. It used to be that a fighter would go all out once he was cut, out of fear that the fight would be stopped. I remember when fighters would beg the doc not to stop the fight, "just one more round" - I haven't seen that shit in a while. Old school fighters' first objective was to hit the other guy while not getting hit, nowadays it's just not to get hit. Now I'm no Pacman or even Mayweather fan but I can't imagine either one of them quitting on their stools unless they couldn't feel their legs.
