~More Backstage Details On Kaval's Departure From WWE~

Brandon Silvestry (a/k/a Kaval) requested his release from World Wrestling Entertainment after being frustrated with his position in the organization. The company's creative department was told to bury him after winning the second season of NXT, until a decision was made that he built up for a few weeks for an Intercontinental Championship Match against Dolph Ziggler at the Survivor Series. After losing at the pay-per-view event, creative was told to resume burying him.

Following his quick loss to Drew McIntyre on the Dec. 21 episode of SmackDown, he reportedly asked organization officials if he had any heat with them, to which he was told no. He then queried if they had any future plans for him and was told they didn't. He subsequently asked to be released from his contract, which was officially granted two days later.

Silvestry joined WWE in late 2008 while reigning as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion in Japan. Original creative plans called for him to adopt a masked character and feud with Rey Mysterio. As he was awaiting his call-up to the main roster, he suffered a severe leg injury in January 2009, which sidelined him for nine months. Creative lost interest in utilizing the program by the time he healed and he remained in developmental until June, when it was announced he would be a participant in the second season of NXT.

 my bad, I didnt even see it

Hey, you did add a fancy picture, though.:D

As Deltronz asked a page or so back, is there any doubt left they wanted Alex Riley to win? He's on Raw every week (getting beat to death and hurting his long term credibility) while Kaval will be wrestling Amazing Red next month in front of hundreds of people (from a fan standpoint, I'll take that match everyday but you get my point).

And this is after Riley gets a DUI! Like CM Punk said, "Who knew a DUI was job security?".

Kaval vs. Mysterio would've been tight.

If they had a fued with Kaval masked and a heel, have him beat Mysterio a couple times then when Mysterio beats him, have Kaval escape without being unmasked only to come on to NXT unmasked and then win as a face and then reveal that he was the masked guy fueding with Mysterio, turn heel and then fued again, that would've been interesting.

Sad thing is which further proves ways in which the WWE is inept is that they put Riley in with a relatively weak group overall. Gave him more time than anybody else on NXT,tried to saddle decent guys like Kaval with either weak pros or bad gimmicks or both. And Riley still didn't win.And to top it off about 3 or 4 other guys got more over than he did during the season including Kaval who had Laycool as his pros and was stuck wearing a goofy pink sweater at one point.

If Cena has to miss any real time, expect them to pull the trigger on bringing back HHH and Taker real soon.

Even if he did have to miss time i wouldn't put it past them to have him come out in a wheelchair and still dominate all of them. What they need to be concerned about is how childish punk made him look on raw, i mean "CM Sucks" really that's just as bad as "smelly kelly" probably worse since he's a grown man.

Yep. How is he on Raw while Percy Watson is back in Florida?

Just when I think TNA has the market cornered on backwards booking, WWE has a Miz-Morrison "falls count anywhere" match on Raw. Huh? I'm sure it'll be good but why not, with a ppv coming up, have them wrestle a straight match first with a screwjob finish to set up a FCA at the Rumble? Now I'm thinking Morrison won't get the shot at RR and they'll give it to Orton, which will suck.
This was my main concern when they put the title on Miz. I knew he could carry the weight but I wasn't sure how they would push him. Would they make his a strong champion or give him the Swagger treatment. As of now, he's looked weak as hell. I get making the champ look vulnerable but this makes him look like a fluke.

2 hours and change of predictability. once the title match was first u knew the deal. 2 heels and one face in a cage match, barrett loses he's out, hmmmm wonder who'll win!!! r truth loses again. i need a new show 2 watch

Teddy Long is wildin out in this video, after he announes Jazz listen to him on the side...

I'm confused they say the pg era has been great for business, but during this time the arenas were more full, ratings were higher and they had more adults in the crowd. The wwe will never be successful again until they start dipping back to these days again.

The best thing going for American Pro Wrestling at the moment. Unique, variety of talent, very good booking, strong emphasis on tag teams, meshes the old with the new (worldwide), etc. A wrestling promotion made for pro wrestling fans, it's a crazy concept that actually works. :D If you've ever watched Ring of Honor, Shimmer, CZW, Dragon Gate USA, etc...then you'll be happy to know that the talent in all those promotions (and many others worldwide) are heavily involved in Chikara. Plus, it's hard to go wrong when Mike Quackenbush, Claudio Castagnoli, Reckless Youth, and Chris Hero are the head trainers. Good mixture of American, Mexican, Japanese, and European styles all mixed together.

That's a name I haven't heard in years and years. Reckless Youth was THE indy star of the early 90s, pre-ECW.

This is one of the problems with modern day WWE and we've discussed it before: the unwillingness to push new main eventers. Sure they gave us Sheamus and Nexus but then they have Morrison challenge for the title on Raw while giving the ppv main event to Randy Orton AGAIN. In 93, they put a freshly-in Razor Ramon to challenge champ Bret Hart at the Royal Rumble and they gave them 20 mins and Ramon became a serious contender for the rest of his tenure. Why not give Morrison, who damn sure earned it with his performance at TLC, the big payday especially on a show where the real main event is the battle royal anyway?

Indeed. Not only is he a great worker, but him and Mike Quackenbush have done a great job creating Chikara (philosophically, and for its in-ring action). For me, Chikara is as refreshing now as ECW was in it's prime (and Chikara isn't a hardcore promotion at all). Even during the occasional dud match (which is far and few between these days), I always get a sense of love for the pro wrestling business.

It might be a good time for Morrison to ask HHH if he needs any new spotting partners.

But on a more serious note, you hit the nail right on it Dave. I think in Vince's eyes people like Morrison, Kingston, Punk, and Christian are good midcarders, but can't carry the promotion. HHH has put his stamp on people like Sheamus, Orton, and the like. So we're getting them down our throats regardless of apathetic pops and "meh" level matches they routinely produce without being carried. WWE doesn't want to take chances these days, despite the attendance dropping. And yet, taking chances is exactly what helped them in the past. It perplexes my mind how a guy as fragile and hot tempered as Orton gets as many chances as he gets. Hell, the heel Orton, even at it's peak push, is still not the heel Orton I think should've gotten pushed. RNN Orton was gold if they invested more energy into it.

I might have to order a few dvds to check it out.

:lol: Clearly being a Shawn Michaels protege doesn't get you shit (Brian Kendricks, Daniel Bryan) so a little sucking up to HHH might be in order. That or screw the Undertaker and you can become the Divas champ.

They spend more energy trying to shortcircuit companies that aren't real competition (signing away Bryan, Nigel McGuinness, and Tyler Black to hurt ROH and signing Gail Kim to hurt TNA) than they do working on their own product.
But if you say that, WWE and it's defenders will point to Miz, Sheamus, and Nexus and act like that's they pushing new, young talent and it isn't. Miz isn't being pushed as a strong champion (he was doing better and looked stronger before he became champ), Sheamus is being set up to lose to HHH either at the Rumble, Elimination Chamber, or worse, at Mania and the Nexus got annihilated by John Cena.
Orton has the talent but he's had some of the most uninspired matches since becoming a top guy I've seen since the days of Hogan and Warrior being on top. He's even worse because those guys didn't have half his actual ability. His interviews are boring and his matches haven't been good in years. If someone less favored had the kind of run Orton had on top, they would be back chasing the US title by now.

they need to push morrison more. i like seeing dude wrestle, madd exciting and remind me of shawn micheals to a certain extent.

smh@ kicking Wade Barrett out the Nexus

That's like kickin Method Man outta Wu Tang

Terrible

I doubt that Nexxus storyline ends like this. I mean what else is Nexxus and CM Punk going to do leading up to the PPV? Sheamus doing his King of the Ring thing, Orton is in a title hunt, Miz is champion, Morrison is in this feud with Miz......My feeling is CM Punk is going to continue this feud with Barrett. Barrett will probably argue he lost because of CM Punk and we'll probably see a match between the two at the next PPV.

I'm loving this Nexxus angle though with CM Punk. The Cm Punk addition to the storyline was much needed after they fucked up that angle.

Don't know what you guys are doing but I'm watching a classic from 86: Stan Hansen vs. Jerry Blackwell for the AWA title. The AWA on ESPN Classic is great up until they get to around 87 when most of the talent left, gets good again when they start working with Lawler and the Von Erich and bring in all the Texas and Tennessee talent (that's when I first saw Diamond Dallas Page), and then goes back to sucking and never gets better.

How RAW handles the Cena injury should be interesting.

hey this right here is Vince's worse nightmare, a Wrestlemania minus Cena and Undertaker. Hell that alone would put him in a coma for real.

C/S once the miz won his match u pretty much knew it was going to be a face to challenge him at Royal Rumble and that they only have one babyface right now in Orton it was academic it would be him.

Quick question. Is there any way in hell the Rock is coming back? I remember hearing rumors that he was returning last summer. Then, he said after his last movie he was going to come back. Is it a wrap on those plans?

He's done. He gets millions of dollars and doesn't have to take any bumps. He'll probably make some special appearances and I seem to remember him saying he was open to doing one of those guest host of Raw segments but we'll never see him in the ring again.

If he does it will be very very brief. Don't count on full time.
