~More Backstage Details On Kaval's Departure From WWE~
![]()
Brandon Silvestry (a/k/a Kaval) requested his release from World Wrestling Entertainment after being frustrated with his position in the organization. The company's creative department was told to bury him after winning the second season of NXT, until a decision was made that he built up for a few weeks for an Intercontinental Championship Match against Dolph Ziggler at the Survivor Series. After losing at the pay-per-view event, creative was told to resume burying him.
Following his quick loss to Drew McIntyre on the Dec. 21 episode of SmackDown, he reportedly asked organization officials if he had any heat with them, to which he was told no. He then queried if they had any future plans for him and was told they didn't. He subsequently asked to be released from his contract, which was officially granted two days later.
Silvestry joined WWE in late 2008 while reigning as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion in Japan. Original creative plans called for him to adopt a masked character and feud with Rey Mysterio. As he was awaiting his call-up to the main roster, he suffered a severe leg injury in January 2009, which sidelined him for nine months. Creative lost interest in utilizing the program by the time he healed and he remained in developmental until June, when it was announced he would be a participant in the second season of NXT.

Hey, you did add a fancy picture, though.
As Deltronz asked a page or so back, is there any doubt left they wanted Alex Riley to win? He's on Raw every week (getting beat to death and hurting his long term credibility) while Kaval will be wrestling Amazing Red next month in front of hundreds of people (from a fan standpoint, I'll take that match everyday but you get my point).
And this is after Riley gets a DUI! Like CM Punk said, "Who knew a DUI was job security?".
If Cena has to miss any real time, expect them to pull the trigger on bringing back HHH and Taker real soon.

Sad thing is which further proves ways in which the WWE is inept is that the put Riley in with a relatively weak group overall. Gave me as more time than anybody else on NXT,tried to saddle decent guys like Kaval with either weak pros or bad gimmicks or both. And Riley still didn't win.And to top it off about 3 or 4 other guys got more over than he did during the season including Kaval who had Laycool as his pros and was stuck wearing a goofy pink sweater at one point.

How RAW handles the Cena injury should be interesting.

The best thing going for American Pro Wrestling at the moment. Unique, variety of talent, very good booking, strong emphasis on tag teams, meshes the old with the new (worldwide), etc. A wrestling promotion made for pro wrestling fans, it's a crazy concept that actually works. If you've ever watched Ring of Honor, Shimmer, CZW, Dragon Gate USA, etc...then you'll be happy to know that the talent in all those promotions (and many others worldwide) are heavily involved in Chikara. Plus, it's hard to go wrong when Mike Quackenbush, Claudio Castagnoli, Reckless Youth, and Chris Hero are the head trainers. Good mixture of American, Mexican, Japanese, and European styles all mixed together.
That's a name I haven't heard in years and years. Reckless Youth was THE indy star of the early 90s, pre-ECW.
Why not give Morrison, who damn sure earned it with his performance at TLC, the big payday especially on a show where the real main event is the battle royal anyway?

Indeed. Not only is he a great worker, but him and Mike Quackenbush have done a great job creating Chikara (philosophically, and for its in-ring action). For me, Chikara is as refreshing now as ECW was in it's prime (and Chikara isn't a hardcore promotion at all). Even during the occasional dud match (which is far and few between these days), I always get a sense of love for the pro wrestling business.
It might be a good time for Morrison to ask HHH if he needs any new spotting partners.![]()

Clearly being a Shawn Michaels protege doesn't get you shit (Brian Kendricks, Daniel Bryan) so a little sucking up to HHH might be in order. That or screw the Undertaker and you can become the Divas champ. But on a more serious note, you hit the nail right on it Dave. I think in Vince's eyes people like Morrison, Kingston, Punk, and Christian are good midcarders, but can't carry the promotion. HHH has put his stamp on people like Sheamus, Orton, and the like. So we're getting them down our throats regardless of apathetic pops and "meh" level matches they routinely produce without being carried. WWE doesn't want to take chances these days, despite the attendance dropping. And yet, taking chances is exactly what helped them in the past. It perplexes my mind how a guy as fragile and hot tempered as Orton gets as many chances as he gets. Hell, the heel Orton, even at it's peak push, is still not the heel Orton I think should've gotten pushed. RNN Orton was gold if they invested more energy into it.![]()

Quick question. Is there any way in hell the Rock is coming back? I remember hearing rumors that he was returning last summer. Then, he said after his last movie he was going to come back. Is it a wrap on those plans?

He's done. He gets millions of dollars and doesn't have to take any bumps. He'll probably make some special appearances and I seem to remember him saying he was open to doing one of those guest host of Raw segments but we'll never see him in the ring again.
