Anybody here ever had bedbugs in there place

Considering the amount of hotels, and the amount of tourists and people who commute into the city and those who actually live here, why be surprised if NY has a lot of bedbugs?

What people DON'T know is how easily they can be passed. I don't sit down in waiting rooms anymore. I hear that that is one main way they are spread. I will bomb my house into oblivion if I get them, though. AND my car.

I hear that bombs don't work. I'm terrified to lean or sit anywhere common.

Right now Detroit and NY are infested with them. We stayed in a hotel in Detroit a few weeks back and we pulled back the sheets and seen them. If you see them u have a real problem. When u go to a hotel pull back the sheets and lift the mattress. Never put your stuff on the floor or bed until it has been inspected. If you do get them you will have to get pest control involved. Freeze all your clothes and so on.

ny is not infested in them:hmm:

Nigga, please. I just read an article in The New York Times about how people with bedbug sniffing dogs are getting rich in NYC. Bedbugs are everywhere in New York, apartments, office buildings, movie theaters, libraries, hotels and, yes, even in the subways.

They need to cut the bullshit and un-ban DDT... which is the only reason that bedbugs went away in the first place.

I'm driving down to Florida next week and was thinking about staying overnight in a hotel/motel......I think I'll just sleep in my car. Fuck that :puke:

if you have them and need to kill without spending money dealing with the exterminators, go to your local hardware store or the net and find some diatomaceous earth powder, commonly known as bed bug powder. spread it around the corners of the infected room.. vacuum and reapply every couple of days for three weeks str8. i guarandamtee they'll be gone.. worked for me.. only spent about 15 bucks on a gallon size jug...

DDT is banned because along with bedbugs they also almost destroyed the populations of Ospreys, many eagles, falcons, hawks and other birds of prey as well as other animal life. For the birds it made their eggs fragile, so that they cracked easily when sat upon...and birds sit on their eggs to incubate them to hatch. If you can't warm the eggs they die, if you try they die. Many birds almost went extinct and some probably did.

I hate badbugs as much as anybody, but poisoning all of the animal life ain't worth it. There has got to be a better way.

This lady said she and her family stayed at a five star hotel. Said she woke up with one on her back. Pulled back the sheets they was all over.

How did you get rid of them??

1. Remove mattress from bed and spray nooks and crannies of bedframe and bedroom with an insecticide. Do this weekly for like a month.

2. Place your mattress in a zippable mattress cover. It will trap any present in the mattress and they will eventually starve.

Bed Bug Infestation

Bed Bug Cluster
Bed bugs are flat and small in size, allowing them to hide easily from view during the day when they are not active. They hide in mattresses, bed frames, bedding, furniture, carpets, baseboards and bedroom clutter. They are most commonly found in the seams of mattresses or inside box springs. However, it is not necessary to locate a specimen to identify an infestation. Their excrement leaves brown to black stains on mattresses and linens, and bloodstains may be visible where bed bugs have been accidentally crushed.

Bed bugs are commonly transported within luggage, allowing them to spread anywhere humans settle. Infestations have become a problem in domestic households, hotels, dormitories and other places of residence. Because of their small size and propensity to hide within mattresses and furniture, controlling a bed bug infestation can prove difficult.

The presence of only one fertile female bed bug in a friendly environment such as a single or multiple family dwelling is an infestation that is waiting to happen. Since a healthy, blood-fed female bed bug can produce from 200-500 healthy eggs during her lifetime and may lay from 2-5 eggs each day, the likelihood of an infestation of bed bugs is extremely high unless bed bug control efforts by your pest management professional are employed to eliminate the infestation.
