Biracial females raised by white mothers miss out on a lot of things..

Its GOOD that homegirl has never read Essence magazine. That bullshit black girl's cosmopolitan trash mag needs to be discontinued.
Fuck Tyler Perry movies. And I'm not really into soul food, either.
I do understand that they need more exposure to black culture, though. If you are going to help them, help them. If not, then don't complain about what they don't know if you aren't willing to contribute to their knowledge. I live in a city full of mixed chicks and some of them are so far gone there's no helping them. Some of them seek out black culture only to be met with bitter, jealous black chicks who hold resentment for them being "light-skinned" and having "good hair"; things that they have no control over.
Growing up in the South, black folk were just black folk; light, dark, whatever. If they want to understand and/or need help - HELP THEM. Let's not forget our culture of being willing to look out for our own as well.

These girls are cool, I have no hate for them. I do help and "school" them on stuff when something arises.

Black culture is amazing and beautiful, colorful and enlightening. the entire world envies it, copies, it, emulates it, and abandons their cultures to follow it.

They don't hear you though!!!!!

Exactly, but according to these fools, these women who in society are viewed as Black, are better off not knowing about Black culture.

That's what I was trying to say, a lot of things about black culture are endearing. Because they were raised by a white woman, they don't know about those things. That's all I am saying.
:hmm:

I work with two biracial females who have white mothers and those sistas are soo clueless to things! It really amazes me.

Please don't corrupt her. Sounds like she's doing just fine. You may want to pick up a couple pointers from her.

I think you need to rephrase your thread title to Biracial women raised solely by their single white mothers without the presence of their black family miss out on a lot. I have a neice and cousin who are very cultured and "cook" soul food and attend "black churches".

So cracklins, pig feet , chitlins, or fried chicken can be healthy ? Go in a Soul Food restaurant Nd ask for baked chicken theyll give you that :hmm: face.

Your a lie you can find soul food paces with baked chicken in fact I just had some from a place in Charlotte and Memphis

Click this link and you'll see for your self. Sadies in Charlotte

Sorry, Lola, but I'm calling bullshit here. On the same I know little about "African American" household and I'm a first generation "African American" born to African parents. I don't much about soul food but I'm astounded over how little blacks (not outside of America) still saying fuck Africa! You never catch Asians saying fuck Asia! or whites crying fuck Europe! but I guess I know little about life, also.

Oh fuck. You gonna train a "mixed" woman black girl bitterness? And she put you up on mixed girl confusion?

Oh, for the poster with the Obama comment: remember, ain't know civil minded father of color (in the family or gone) gonna press his son that he could become President one day. You weren't hearing that in no family of color. That's his white upbringing talking. That level of optimism is usually unheard of. (tell me different, please!)

FALSE! Not only my parents told my brother and I this but my Grandfather did as well. "There are no limits for you, make a way if they take your way". Obviously my brother and I are not presidents of the USA but when your peers gravitate to your leadership skills and youve founded and started multiple companies you have something that cant be taken from you...

Thank you for calling him on this. You beat me to it. No one in my family NEVER told me what I couldn't be or do. They always encouraged me to reach my goals and aspirations no matter what they were.

I agree. These responses are VERY telling...look at this shit--

"Black culture should not be taught as it is "bad" and "corrupting". I believe one poster actually used the word "corrupt"."

"They are doing fine not knowing about their black side."

"Black parents don't inspire their kids to be anything, only white ones like President Obama's family tell their kids they can be anything." :hmm:

"It's good they didn't have black women to teach them"---I'm really WTF on this one, considering they were raised by black women themselves. :smh:

The brainwashing is REALLY working isn't it?

Whereas Lola was trying to clown them, I remembered that this was me until I got 1/2 way thru college. I grew up in the burbs (fairly wealthy parents) and didn't know shit about the street life. I am so far from being bi-racial but my ex-wife is so I understand the struggle. I grew up around all white folks, generally.

Not growing up around blacks is a blessing and a curse. Not growing up around whites is a blessing and a curse.

I actually have no comment other than this post made me remember how I used to be.

As I've gotten older, not being "street" has helped me professionally as well as with women.

/senseless comment

YOU need some serious psychological counseling.

That's laughable, coming from the resident psychopath of BGOL.

It's funny you say that about counseling. My one co-worker said she went into counseling as a younger kid, because she had issues growing up and her mom could never relate to her. Take that however you want.

So you consider black culture only being "street"?

I understand what you are trying to say about your experiences, but that's not what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about who we are in positive ways--our gifts as a people, but all I'm seeing is negative shit listed here. Oh well. Again, it speaks volumes.

Well, I'm happy for you, bruh. And how old are you when your folks are telling you you can be a fire fighter or an astronaut?

I never said folks were discouraging their kids from being leaders --- I stressed being president and folks of color (all but white). In fact, all else heavily stressed in America. This you won't just anywhere else. Some countries people have a pre-destined mentality without saying a word to them.

I never go to SOL, it's boring over there, so you don't have to worry about my "bullshit" posts. :hmm:
Based on your bullshit posts, it's understandable that mature and intelligent conversations are BORING to you :hmm:

I work with two biracial females who have white mothers and those sistas are soo clueless to things! It really amazes me. One is 33 years old, she came to me and asked me could I teach her how to make soul food. She had no idea how to make anything. Her husband is black and she wanted to cook for him. When I talk about things in black culture, like being in the black church and you put your index finger up to go to the bathroom (lol) she looked at me like this  She is completely clueless to black culture and I feel sorry for ole girl.

The other one is even worse and she's 38 years old! She wanted to go see Tyler Perry's movie, and she has a history of depression and suicide after a brotha left her! He told her he was going to marry her and he didn't. She is weak as hell. I told her that I think the Tyler Perry movie subject matter is a bit heavy for her, since she has been going through emotional issues again. I told her that his movie was based off a play that came out years ago, I remember as a kid seeing it in Essence magazine. She said, "Essence magazine--I've never read it, it's a black woman's magazine with fashion in it, right?"

WTF man. I feel sorry for these girls, white women have raised them and they are totally clueless to life.

So because a person doesn't know about soul food, and Tyler Perry movies, this makes them LESS black?

Intelligent description of BLACK culture: being able to relate to other minorities treating you like crap in the U.S. just because your skin is brown (not all black folks), having law enforcement officers harass you when you were not breaking a law (not all black folks), actually knowing about and getting upset about slavery and getting pissed off when nonblacks say to 'get over it' (not all black folks), having kinky/nappy hair (not all black folks)

Ignorant description of black culture: making soul food, reading Essence , watching Tyler Perry films, going to a 'black' church

They don't get it. I did attach a "lol" to that about the one finger thing in church. It was always funny to me also.

Someone who has grown up in the black church would know about that.

Church retards the mental development of Black folks. Which is why most mixed chicks are a bit sharper than the standard African American woman.

So because a person doesn't know about soul food, and Tyler Perry movies, this makes them LESS black?
and apparently clueless to life  So I wonder how the billions of people around the world who were not raised by a black mother are faring in life?

So because a person doesn't know about soul food, and Tyler Perry movies, this makes them LESS black?
Dude, those were loose examples. There has been many things discussed to support what ive seen, I can't fucking list everything.

Well, I'm done. As many have stated, they are better off not knowing. White is right, excuse me for bringing up the topic.

So they missed out on obesity and growing up in a sheep culture. Also they have the same jobs as you and they are many black women who were raised by black mothers who don't know how to cook.

I didn't read anything the op wrote or any comments. All I want to say is this.....The op is out of her fucking mind. A child is 100% better off not having to deal with some trifling unqualified idiot black mother. That biracial child is lucky to have a black father and white mother. All she would learn from a black mother is how to trap men, lessons on how to go after the man with the best job and car, how to manipulate the system to get welfare, section8, 1 shot deals, food stamps, child support, encouragement to get pregnant by the age of 15, etc. :hmm:

Oh and no, I'm not the victim of this. Both of my parents are alive, married, and retired with pensions. Both were professionals. Unfortunately, this generation of black mothers are nothing at all. Just look at all the bgol black mothers....70% of them have nude pics of themselves floating around online. 85% of them are single mothers.

Older black mothers were great, and were about something. Todays black mother is nothing but the laughing stock of all races.

beef with the fatherless bgol niggas in 4.2 secs... Bring it.

First off, I think you have reading comprehension problems.

I never said going to a Tyler Perry film was the barometer of blackness. :hmm:

She said she was thinking about going to see it. She had no idea that it was a heavy drama and considering a year ago she TRIED TO COMMIT SUICIDE OVER A FAILED RELATIONSHIP and she still suffers from depression, I didn't think it was a good idea she go see a movie that was so emotionally "heavy".

Suicide = white people's struggle and burden. Who has higher rates of suicide--black or whites?

We know the answer. That's some white girl shit, taking pills cause some man left you.

Jesus...:smh:

I can't understand why when I talked about the lack of black culture being taught because their mothers are white and there are no black people in their lives, WHY does the discussion of black culture have to be the negative side?

I agree with you about old school mothers, that's the one I had. They were better, but I can't agree with all this black women hated you are spewing.

Anyhow, this chick is 38 years old, so your "black women of today" diatribe is a moot point.

Her mom is a 60 something white woman.
:hmm:

Yall cats a trip. No one questioned why the black father is absent from the white mother. Seems like black father leave the woman regardless of race. lol

Damn, you're both deluded and dangerous. :smh:

I'm pretty sure the same is said about Biracial women raised by Black mothers in the White Community. I have a couple of biracial female friends (raised by Black mothers) who have all been ostracized by their white peers for being too "ethnic" so they find solace in the black community.

I also know a number of biracial females (raised by whites mothers) who are cool as hell and are very aware of their "blackness" and know how to throw down in the kitchen...and know how to cook soul food and can handle watching a Tyler Perry movie...lol.

one thing i cant stand is a ghetto ass halfbreed with a ghetto ass momma. the worst are the ones with white mommas. :hmm:
