Rondo got a DNP-CD, saw the writing on wall and tried to save face. I'm surprised cause Rondo went from sugar to shit real quick. Everybody was on his dick during/after the Cleveland series, talking like he's a mortal lock to be in the Hall of Fame, and now he can't make the USA basketball team in an off year with all the big names sitting out.

Rondo is nothing special but he his smart. He understands that no team will double him or even shade to help so he can get to the rack easily. He also knows that teams will rotate off of him and he will have a free run for rebounds because there is no one to box him out. So his offensive game is pretty easy and all he really has to do is play hard on D and he's an all-star.
Rondo was exposed in the playoffs when Jameer Nelson thoroughly outplayed him. If bitch ass Vince Carter had played at all then Orlando would have gone back to the finals.

trapezoid lane is a travesty, I don't want to watch big men all float outside. the 3-point line is a joke. and if the US took the no-goaltending rule sriously and just parked somebody like dwight howard right by the hoop, those euro teams might never score.seriously basketball is an american/canadian sport. euros need to stfu and start playing with real rules.
also, the refs are HORRIBLE.

Rondo is not gonna excel in this circumstance. Rondo has made a young career out of being the 6th best player on the floor. He's smart and is starting to master the pick n roll. But not only is he a poor shooter from distance, he is a terrible free throw shooter. You know Coach K can't have that!! He's made a career out of chasing down long rebounds, and using his quickness smartly. Bottom line, he's not good enough to be on this team, let alone the "real" team.

he is no jason kidd. rondo can't do anything better than jason kidd could do at this point in rondo's career. he isn't as fast with the ball as him, doesn't have that same vision, isn't the human fast break etc.
rondo is good but jason in his prime and his back to back finals appearance net years is way ahead of rondo right now. now rondo might grow into something but at this point its not even close.

Has Jason Kidd's shooting improved? He had a higher three percentage this year, because he gets wide open threes because teams still don't respect him enough to guard him close.
Kidd is a better passer, but his offensive game was never that good.
Rondo's assist to turnover ratio is over 4 to 1
He's one of the better defensive PG's
He shoots 50% as a guard, big men in todays NBA don't shoot 50%, so he knows his limitations.

If they don't score their team loses by 20. You can't compare their numbers scoring numbers straight up vs. rondo.
Celtics have the "big three". Rondo can't put up numbers like that with the big three on the team. Fuck it!! even the big three have each lost 8+ points per game off of their averages because there is not enough shots to go around.
Rondo only averages 5 points less per game than williams and paul.
If the celtics only had the "big two" he would be at their scoring average or more. all three players assists are pretty much the same.
This year with shaq needing touches as the starter(perkins is great but his hands and offense is awful) rondo's scoring may go down and his assist per game may be tops in the league.

jason kidd was the mvp arguably for 2 years in a row. he literally took a nets team to the finals on his back. they went from laughing stock to eastern conf champions instantly with him and when they didn't have him they never duplicated that type of success.

But at this moment as the NBA 2010 season begins rondo is better than both. parker only plays half seasons with all his injuries. Rondo beats kidd in every PG stat there is.

kidd shot 42% from 3-point in 09-10. anyway even if he hadn't developed a shot (which he has) he would be in the hall due to being able to completely dominate a game WITHOUT SCORING which very few players in nba history have done.
That is what makes him special. For example, Iverson was a great score and player but his IQ was just piss poor on the court (as a pg he never understood how to control the flow of the game like CP and D-Will). It is extremely difficult to play smart in basketball especially when the pressure is on. That why I respect Billups so much.
Jameer Nelson's IQ <<<<< Rondo's. It took Nelson 4 games (Boston Series) to understand how the pick and role should be ran with D. Howard plus I realized in the play-offs that he also lacks passing ability. Because Rondo can not shot he does get a lot of freebies.
And it was the highest of his career, and his FG% was 41, and Rondo shot 52%.
