The M3 is one of my favorite cars but you have to give it up to Ford for what they've done with the live rear axle. Just like Porsche sticking with a rear engine platform in the 911, Ford has made an ancient platform work about as good as it's going to get. I think it's a big acheivement for the Mustang to run with the M3. Imagine how the M3 owner feels knowing he couldn't outrun a 30k Mustang. I'd like to see what the GT500 would do against the M3. Good post.
Nice comparison, both are nice and nothing beat the sound of a mustang V8 engine and dual exhaust.

For stronger resale i'll take the M3...(throw in a Dinan stroker) and i'm good.
C'mon. The pony has always been a straight-line car. Throw a curve in front of it and it's a wrap. M3 is a roadster, made to handle road courses. eg: curves.

An M3 is a GT...not a roadster. A roadster is a 2 seater with a convertible or targa top.

The e92 will be the last naturally aspirited engine in the M3 lineup for the forseeable future. It will hold good value...and def' much better value than the GT.

I'm not defending the Mustang in the least and I'm a E46 ZCP owner but facts are facts and the M3 doesn't hold its value like it used to...and I'm willing to bet the E92 will depreciate at a higher percentage than the GT (mainly because of the economy).

The new GT500 would win because of the power advantage, but really it doesn't offer much difference in the way of handling. The new Boss 302 is the handler of the Mustang pack.

Noticed that as well but i don't believe it was a result of tapping the brakes...instead, i believe Ford either went with pulse width modulation (PWM) on the tail design or it could've been a result of the frame rate.
