Breaking News: Clemens to Be Indicted for Perjury

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Federal authorities have decided to indict Roger Clemens on charges of making false statements to Congress about his use of performance-enhancing drugs, according to two people briefed on the matter.

An announcement is expected later today.

The indictment comes nearly two and half years after Clemens and his former trainer Brian McNamee testified under oath at a hearing before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, directly contradicting each other about whether Clemens had used the banned substances.

The committee held the hearing in February 2008, just two months after McNamee first tied Clemens to the use of the substances in George J. Mitchell’s report on the use of performance-enhancing drugs in baseball. After Mitchell released the report, Clemens launched an attack on McNamee, saying he made up the allegations.

Federal authorities had McNamee cooperate with federal authorities in 2008 to avoid charging him with steroid distribution.

This is just lip service; it's not practical to have votes on which laws to enforce. Lying to a grand jury is a big deal and should be treated as such.

point is who gives a shit about what a baseball players lies and doesn't lie about. He shouldn't have been in front of the jury in the first place wasting tax payers money.

I agree with that, but still he lied, and that has to be taken seriously.

come on dude he didnt lie about something that is a matter of national security or something equally important.

i know you probably a bonds fan who just wants to see them take it to the CAC like they did Barry, but in both situations it is a waste of time.

come on dude he didnt lie about...

It doesn't matter what you lied about, a lie is a lie, and to do so in front of grand jury is a criminal offense that needs to be taken seriously.

Can't have people on some "oh, this ain't that important, at least I'm not selling secrets to our enemies, I don't need to tell the truth here" shit. Nah, you can't lie to a grand jury, PERIOD.

it would be nice if the tax payers could decide how they wanted their money spent.

post of the month

because they run this muthafucka!

and that's the saddest part of all.
money hungry ruining the world ass people fucking it up for everyone including themselves. but its so much in their nature that they can't help but destroy, with no option to rebuild. so much money that they have their hands on and constantly scheming to ruing lives in order to get more and swindle and rob with no consequence.

if they just started executing these bastards maybe then they'd learn.

if they'd give perks to people who open factories and have their majority work force HERE in the u.s. then that might curb some of the stuff that's going on

Watch the rules change and the public gets the sympathy card for the Rocket.

yup!! Barry Bonds had the pitchfork posse gathering outside his door, but now watch CACs get all, let bygones be bygones!! :smh:

Karma is a cold bitch!!

He should have either done what McGwire did or what Sosa did. Mark just said I'm not talking about that shit. Sammy forgot how to speak english for a couple days  . Roger didn't do that.

I appreciate your steadfastness. I do agree with the others. But it's cool to see someone really stick to what they believe in every now and again.

Even still. This is some malarky here. I don't agree with you...But big ups on your belief.

Where are all the Barry Bonds supporters rushing to Clemens' defense????? Same perjury problem.
