HNIC l propose a new rule when it comes to posting software on the board

Doesn't have to be a rule, just has to be sensible working practice.
Or sensible posting practice to be precise.

It is not followed therefore it should be made a rule. If someone posts software without first scanning it then that thread or post should be reported and deleted.

Same dude has another thread on the front page with Polar games that has a worm too.. too many fucking coincidences.

:dunno:i don't even mess with software unless it is from poster who i have gotten reliable things from in the past.

Before someone posts software can they first scan it using http://scanner.novirusthanks.org/ or http://www.virustotal.com/. Voyuer posted a WinRaar 3.93 Pro final and when l scanned it using the aforementioned services it was full of viruses and trojans. To keep the family safe l propose that you put this rule into effect.

R U sure it wasn't the serial key generator included with the program? (if there was one)

Those tend to make anti-virus programs go nuts.

as far as software goes doesn't the keygens/cracks come up as false positives when scanned by a virus software?? isnt the keygen/crack a sort of virus 2 the software for u 2 use it free?

I have never had one kick back as a worm before.. i know sometimes their behavior will be identified as a trojan.

Nope, the anti-viruses go nuts because people bind viruses and Trojans to those key generator programs. They usually do this so that they can keylog you and get your financial information or other relevant information.

and his title says it comes with a crack so is that what the anti virus picking up?? :dunno:

cosign.

Its infected with a stration worm. I cant find any relation to this & keygens/cracks

http://antivirus.about.com/od/virusdescriptions/p/stration.htm

The point the OP is making is that many people just import links from other forums & places w/o checking the shit. :smh:

Well put, it is better to be safe than sorry.Let people know whether the software their downloading has viruses or not. Another thing is that if you scan the software using novirus they can show you if it binded to something else like a Remote adminstration tool or keylogger

Voyeur is 1 of da don's riders also:rolleyes:

I considered that as an after thought.

fuck no. i have the pm's to prove it.

that mofo pm'd me out of the blue. i had never dealt with that nigga before. i told that nigga i wasn't involved in any e-beefs and didn't want to be.

You can't make it a rule and that is just silly because when dealing with any pirated software these are the risk that comes with it. 99% of the time the keygen will cause the problem. Many anti virus are designed to erase all or block keygens to curve the use of piracy. When downloading software it is up to the user to protect themselves.

this. ^^^^^

I get almost all my stuff from BlackLS, who i trust at this point. I have DL'ed one or two other peoples stuff like the Rosetta Stone 3.4.5 and checked it out b/c the OP asked to verify and I could isolate it, but I am leery of any other software dl's unless I got time to scan them or people have said they were clean. Thanks for the scanner links tho I'll bookmark them for future use.

even black knows that keygens/cracks can be flagged as a false positive in antivirus programs.

I'm aware of that too. I was just saying I KNOW that Black puts out clean software. That wasn't a diss on you. Just saying if I get it from other people on the board I check it first or wait for it to be verified as clean (which should b done anyway honestly.)

This gets back to the topic of the convo , when reported , the post should be deleted :happymad:

buster installs stuff on an off-line pc , and then scans that pc.

This relates to a question I have been wanting to ask of the Malware-savvy folks on the board:
If you only ran the keygen programs (any keygens) in a Sandboxie sandbox, would that keep your system from being infected (once you delete the contents of the sandbox)?

most softwares posted on here does NOT have a worm or virus in them(your AV----->ANTI-VIRUS/99% of AV will tag ------> PATCHES, KEYS, CRACKS, KEYGENS....ETC. as trojans, worms, viruses........why?

BECAUSE THEY GENERATE CODES :hmm: )
